Thank you Robb, I am an new subscriber and I love your channel and energy. This video about being a strong leader will be very helpful. I am a normal European with European values and I will be a strong leader for my Thai girlfriend. A good strong leader. Thank you again and all the best to you :)
Hi Robb, great informative video as usual. I definitely get the well defined roles for husbands and wives in Thailand. When we are there my wife goes into "Thai Spouse mode" ie endlessly cleaning the house, cooking food and gardening. I just love taking her out somewhere so we can actually have a relaxing conversation. She definitely likes me to make all the big decisions and support her as much as I can.
Right on, you are just nailing the vibe of how to deal with a Thai ( Asian ) relationship. Keep up the good work, the channel is really rocking .Finance advice well lets say a superlative notion for success.
The whole sexpat thing is real. I am dedicating a large part of my retirement planning on avoiding sexpat areas. 1 - I will never be fully willing to trust a woman in those areas. 2 I know myself well enough to see myself getting into trouble if I stay there long enough.
I hope you enjoy reading got and that it helps you in someway. Plz co spider leaving a review. It helps my son. The new 3rd edition is live now. It’s really good I think.
Rob. Really enjoy your videos. I hope to meet you when I retire in 3 years. My Thai wife and I have been together for 8 years but l live in USA and her in Bangkok.
Thanks Robb for the great video. I can certainly relate to you on this one. I have a Thai wife here in Thailand. I find the dynamic is very different in a very good way. In the west, it seems to always be a power competition, but here it is more about being mutually supportive. That's my take. Keep up the great work. Really appreciate your videos.
Thx. Talked to my son for about 1.5 hrs. today and he got to hear Fawn’s voice a bit which he said was cute. I’m in the mood for a cigar and bourbon tonight for sure.
Much better delivery Rob! I appreciate that you knew that noise can push your viewers away and not because of you... Better delivery level and focusing on your points! 👍🙏
Hear you, Rob… I’m a Marine Corps Veteran, former Law enforcement guy (probation officer)… my first wife was from Germany, 2nd wife was Swedish; now I have a beautiful Asian bride… I’m super happy! Glad you got back Robb and can shake off all the stress and hassle of traveling ✌️✌️ Same here Robb I'm not sharing financial info matter of fact, here I acted much less and this lady lost interest in me till she found out things were much better for me , she got mad bc she knew I wouldn't take her back 😂😂
Excellent video! Appreciate the insight. This was my experience in Vietnam. I am heading to the Philippines late, December. I will get a multiple entry. Thailand is of course on my list. Thank you, brother.
I’m only 54 years young, but I’m feeling pretty damn invigorated and enjoying life again. I should have dated only Asian girls from the get go… would have been so much better off! Stay motivated! Yes, crush life! It’s never too late to find happiness again! ❤
Regarding the older expat guy in the developing world and a younger woman. It’s the nature of human existence. Young women and old men have power in the relationship which means the inverse is true as well. Why wouldn’t a young woman choose a quality partner ? People critical of this are just bitter about life and it’s cycle
Yeah, I hear you… I brought my Filipina bride to the USA a few years ago…we live in California… between my military pension, my city job, and my Filipina wife’s California State job, we are bringing in over 10k a month and we are still struggling… the inflation is out of control in USA right now. I will do a video this in the near future. I’ve been on prescribers TRT (which I have mentioned maybe only once before) , and due to the weight loss I’ve been able to reduce my dose twice. I’m now on the absolute minimal dose and I love it.
I've told you this many moons ago Robb, but I'll say it again...I don't know you, but I know you're a very nice guy. I've been in similar situations...and I wish you the best. You deserve all the good things coming to you Robb. Please be aware and all the best to you !!!
Great video! I personally don’t think I will ever marry again and if I did we would have to be together for quite awhile and be one special woman w a pre-nup.
Great video. I bet a lot of your viewers could benefit from any advice you have on dealing with back problems, thai hospitals and spine surgeons. I have been trying to fix my back issues for years mainly due to insurance issues but now I'm going on medicare and should be able to get somewhere in US however I'm thinking paying for an operation in thailand my be a better bet.
Met a 60 year old Thai lady that wants or says she needs money….seen her for about a month and know her family but want to be sure she is honest and worth spending time with her. Do you know of a detective who can answer questions about her?
That’s not normal behavior. Sorry to say I’d tell you to block her and move on. That’s almost always a scam. Please consider reading my book I cover that kind of thing extensively.
You're in a small town so it's much different. We’ve been together since we were 19 so that’s 47 years now we’re 66! We’ve always done things (hobbies etc) separately and had very clear ‘roles’ whilst working for 40+ years. We lived parallel lives, but in the same orbit. Since retirement it’s very strange but hubby took over the home stuff- he loves project managing our home life! I expected the novelty to wear off but he says it provides him with structure 🤷♀️ alongside playing golf. Weird eh?! Anyway we have one ‘date day’ a week when we do everything together on that day and it’s fun. Regarding leadership we accept that we take turns leading in our strength areas- some things I’m much better at eg social networks and researching travel/trips but other things he’s great at eg optimising all our financial stuff, risk management, DIY, driving and navigating.
Some us men require a component we miss when we retire from our money making career, not retired from life, just stopped at our business. I am a happy for your relationship 😊

Very interesting presentation Rob! You wouldn’t like the relationship style in Philippines, the girls are like your shadow, like to be around us 24/7. I think it’s because they are used to living in very small quarters with many siblings and literally were never alone growing up and zero privacy. They are content to being together all day. Well done for putting the book on Amazon. I would suggest KDP print on demand and Amazon prints the books and delivers, rather than kindle unlimited which will pay cents rather than $10. Keep going
Being the leader Thai style in a marriage is not the farang way. And it's difficult to change one's style. I know this now in my marriage with a Thai woman, and at 80 yrs old I'm still working on it. . .
It’s really interesting your ‘two leaders’ point. I got sick of the arguments- not saying I was right, but two people trying to lead in a relationship doesn’t work, IMO.
Two leaders works for us because we actually learnt to cede leadership to the other partner depending on relative strengths/weaknesses and context. He’s strong in some areas but weaker in others and it works because we have different strengths.
Going on 16 happy years with the Lovely Mrs. O now. After a few years you just settle in like any other marriage. Taking her to the States probably helped her to understand our culture a bit, which she liked very much. Just depends on the individual woman. The key is to find a woman with good character and no emotional baggage no matter where you find her. If she doesn’t add to the great life you already have she’s the wrong woman. If you need her thinking she’ll give you a great life then you need to work on yourself first. And yes you 100% got to be the leader with a Thai woman. They expect it and you’ll be surprised how well they take to it. Mine certainly does.
I put a lot of stock in how well people match on their love languages. My Thai girlfriend refuses to answer my questions about hers. I think because she doesn't match mine that this is why she keeps her thoughts to herself.
@@paulgannon7749 it’s just basic questions giving you knowledge about a person. For example I hate gifts, if someone gives me a gift i won’t be very receptive. Kinda useful to know? lol I also don’t give gifts either, so if someone values gifts, that’s a dead end.
@@Freedom-33 Exactly. My 1st marriage wasn't successful. My ex was showing me love in ways I didn't understand and didn't value. It wasn't anyone's fault because we both valued different things. Only when I read about the 5 love languages did I put 2 and 2 together to get 5.
@@paulgannon7749yup, it is a constant struggle. During the honey moon phase love language doesn’t matter. It’s after the honeymoon phase that it becomes evident. Honeymoon phase can last up to 7 years lol

HIFU. They do it in clinics and hospitals. Runs $200-300 for a treatment and you can do 2-3 per year I the first year and you’ll need way less after that, maybe one every year or two or even three. They have small home macho es too which are shocking fly effective. See my looking your best playlist for more info before you get too deep…
Don’t you enjoy the traveling from Korat to the USA and the traveling back to Thailand? I hated it. How are you going to take Fawn to Mexico without a visa?
Muscle shirt? Well maybe. The shirt you are wearing is not strictly what is described below. Often referred to as an athletic shirt or its real non PC descriptor "Wife Beater". Some people disagree saying it is a matter of semantics. Leadership? No such thing. Leaders are loners doing their own thing. Managers direct the efforts / actions of other people. Good stuff, keep it going.
I used to work with a woman who was overweight very very old before her time the way she used to dress the way she used to carry herself, and after three weeks off, she came back she lost a fair amount of weight. She was still overweight for my my my kind of woman I mean she she was a size 18 this is UK size. I don’t know what that isn’t in America and she’d come down to like a size 14 so still overweight for my liking but nevertheless, she lost quite a bit of weight Had her hair done had her nails done and we worked in a course center and I was talking to her one day and I said you look great. You know you looking good you know what have you been up to? Oh yeah me and my husband my husband left me so now I’m dating and I’m meeting a guy after work and then I’m meeting another one and then I’m meeting another one now she was in her 40s at the time so you know I was in my 30s and I said to her and it basically everyone in the room looked at me like it was an arsehole, but I looked at her and I said to her, so you’re telling me you’ve gone to all this trouble to look good for strange men you’ve never met before, but you weren’t willing to do it for your husband of 15 years and the whole room went quiet. You could hear a pin drop and this is the problem with women. They’re not willing to do that for their own husbands. Look good and be feminine and be nice but they’re willing to do it for strangers who are basically just gonna sleep with her and then dump her it’s a very very strange phenomenon that these women do when they get to a certain age.
Cmon Rob 🙄. Stop apologizing like a little girl about the muscle shirt 😄😅😂. You’re a man. You look good. You work hard for it. Fk it 😂😂😂😂. Understand though around Thais. 🤷🏻♂️👍🏼 Enjoy bud. Happy for you 😄👍🏼💪🏼
Hi Robb....another thought-provoking vid. I get pretty confused about what the expectations are in my relationship because my gf seems to like being the 'boss'. From our conversations, her serious relationships in the past followed the same path. Ya, maybe her ex did the 'man' stuff, but from what I have been told, he was completely inept when it came to any financial or business issues. She kind of treats me like that as well and she has some difficulty realizing that I am capable of taking care of myself and my business. She balks when I go to the hospital alone for a simple dental appointment. It's pretty funny. Also, she seems like the opposite in regard to housekeeping. She does cook but isn't much of a housekeeper and never touches any of my things. She leaves the housecleaning to me. This isn't saying she is lazy; she has a store at the local night market and goes there every day. Just opening and closing the store is a chore. I know, I go help her. I really find it interesting how much contrast there is between some of your descriptions and what I experience here. It even makes me a little paranoid because I begin thinking 'bad things' about her being so different than what you describe. My PTSD kicking in! Anyway...good stuff. Thanks. By the way, one thing I have noticed more lately is that you seem to be justifying some of your personal decisions...like what shirt you are wearing...etc. Why? It's your life. Are you getting viewers giving you sheet about nonsense like that? I hope not.
Why not live in the USA 6 months out of the year and live 6 months in Thailand? You are not legally married and your Thai wife does not want to live in the USA because of her government job and children. She is not going anywhere other than her village, does not want a Thai man and will wait for you to return to Thailand if you decide to return to Thailand. That village and people in the village are going nowhere and will always be there for you. If your Thai wife does not like you living in the USA to bad as you are retired. Do not be locked in like your old marriage.
You will not hand wash and hang dry your clothes. You will not cook Thai food because you do not know how to do and Thais in Isaan provinces eat spicy food. You will only go grocery shopping for yourself to purchase American type foods as your wife does not know anything about American foods. Better you read a book and have a Latte and let your wife clean, do the laundry and cook or buy food at the Thai market. Do not rock the boat too much or be too picky. Relax you are retired.
Great insights again Robb. TY. Famous book that lays out the differences (God given) between men and women; how they differ in their needs/ natures. Yes, it is from a Christian scriptural (God's law) perspective: "LOVE and RESPECT". Men need moreso in a NATURE way, respect. Women, moreso love. It is what it is. Great book, a well respected work, by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs

Kinda useful to know? lol
I also don’t give gifts either, so if someone values gifts, that’s a dead end.
What is the name of the procedure you had done for your neck? I am moving to Thailand in April and it is something I would like to try for my neck. Thank you for all the content!!
Thank you for the information.
Of course grasshopper…you are coming into your own. 😎
Don’t you enjoy the traveling from Korat to the USA and the traveling back to Thailand? I hated it. How are you going to take Fawn to Mexico without a visa?
Unfortunately Fawn did not get a visa.
Welcome back to paradise
Enjoy bud.
Happy for you 😄👍🏼💪🏼

My Uzi weighs a ton ....
I hope not.
Man-I don’t know. Honestly doesn’t sound great.
Agreed. So far a month here and there does it for me. But in the future that’s probably what will happen.
Geeze
You will not hand wash and hang dry your clothes. You will not cook Thai food because you do not know how to do and Thais in Isaan provinces eat spicy food. You will only go grocery shopping for yourself to purchase American type foods as your wife does not know anything about American foods. Better you read a book and have a Latte and let your wife clean, do the laundry and cook or buy food at the Thai market. Do not rock the boat too much or be too picky. Relax you are retired.
Yes. Good advice.
