I was laughing at the whole rear view camera bit, but this car happened to be 6 years older than I though.
I always liked that P12 Primera, and even at today it looks bold and modern.
Wow, very nice to see this. I have a 2007 interior facelift version, fully equipped 2.0 manual. Just perfect to this day
2006. is the last production year and it was sold until 2008. ....I have 2.0, not perfect, but still more than ok condition for its age.
@@TheKenjoje I have a fully equipped 2007 1.8L P12 with leather seats and all the bells and whistles.. and according to its VIN it was manufactured in January 2007. Production ended in March 2007.
I got one of these! It's a T-Spec 2.0 with the cream/tan leather. It's comfy, nice to waft around in and has a much more luxurious feel than the Nissan name suggests. Excellent motorway munching ability too, being quiet and smooth. I mainly it bought it for the Star Trek vibes of the interior. The exterior grows on me more and more the longer I own it. Must have been pretty badass having adaptive cruise control for under £20k in 2002. It tends to drink fuel on short journeys, but gets 35-40mpg on the motorway. Underrated!
yeah, agreed, I just don't like central plastic, it should have been a better quality....
The times when nissan still sold saloons and wagons in europe and not just suv‘s
i got one had for 16 years only changed starter moter in that time nothing else apart for new battery never ever broke down ,love mine will keep it till it falls apart .
This was aired in 2002 by the way.
Better than the newer series
Why do car reviews not mention important things like does it have a timing chain? does it have a dual mass fly wheel? does it have disc brakes all round? does it have independent suspension?. These seem a good used buy, and the styling still looks pretty fresh. A current Toyota Auris or Prius doesn't look much more modern.
average buyer dosent know the difference, simple.
I like that Fitfh gear have taged Jaguar and Maserati, but not Nissan...lol
Looks good, but does it come with a rearview camera?
only base models didn't, all others had it.
Was is the first car with a rear view camera?
The center-mounted meter console is indeed an acquired taste during its time.
I want this new car from 2002
NISSAN PRIMERA FOR EVER!!!!!!!!
We have one in the family, bought brand new in 2005. The centre console it's just rubish. Roomy and confortable but that's it...
Shares some switchgear with my N16 Almera. Even has the same (now retro) sat nav. No rear view camera though. The centre instruments are a great idea. Begs the question why Nissan didn't carry on with that in their future models. 🤔
Good review & great Nissan.
GOOD REVIEW & GOOD CAR.
I had a 2.2dci diesel model. I loved it to drive but economy was poor. The worst was reliability it had a full Nissan service history but the engine blew up at 103k due to big end bearing failure
the diesel was shit....
@@TheKenjojethe 1.9 dci version is better than 2.2
@@frikkyt8330 of course it is....2.2 had chain and turbo issues, but stronger version was ok to drive....1.9 dci was better than early 2.2 engine
@@TheKenjoje yeah i had 1.9 version and it drove pass 300k km then it broke down it was a good engine
@@frikkyt8330 turbo?
Another thing: nice to see a larger red car rather than the monochrome blobs that dominate British roads nowadays.
The best tv car show ever !
These we're the fifth gear days
Black and white reversing camera.... Simpler times haha
It got coloured and a much better fish eye lens afterwards.
I bought a rear view camera with colors
Got to be the ugliest looking car of its class back then. The p12 however..., now that was a looker!
Notchy gearbox? his he on drugs every age PRIMERA had a superb precise gearchange
Buy it because it’s got a rear view camera...... wow
I had one of these, worst car i ever had for reliabilty. Design certainly ahead of its time
What engine did it have?
Does it have electrical issues?
Did it have a rear view camera?
ah, yikes, these interlaced low-resolution videos of early 2000s........
nothing like anything in america. The máxima looks way better
Way bigger too.
terrible seats and why the central dash?glad they let those be..
My father had one from new. The worst car he has owned.
What made it so bad, out of curiosity? Was it unreliable?
CockatooDude yes very unreliable since day one. And at 80kmh it started to shake like crazy. It wasn’t so nice in long journies. The problem was never solved and after four years he changed to toyota.
@@TheLeewi98 Usually when a car shakes at speed, all you have to do is get the wheels balanced. Was that the only real issue with the car, or were there other problems, like things breaking on it or engine components failing?
CockatooDude Well I believe that the wheels were aligned multiple times. Because even the factory wheels and tires were replaced by the factory but the shacking never completely stopped. The car seemed to have other problems but to be honest I don’t remember everything it had wrong since I was so young and my dad doesn’t talk alot about that car.
No wonder why CEO go to jail....
I often drove these from a hire company. They leased cars that dealers couldn't shift and this nissan was a dreadful car. Horrible menu based control over everything from fan speed to radio control. Felt like sitting in a bath tub. No wonder it was a flop.
Adrian Simpson 🤢🤮
I personally think that this is the ugliest car ever.
Whats wrong with its design?
