Making murderous tendencies contingent on mental illness ("having something wrong with you") not only stigmatizes people with psychotic disorders, but also takes away accountability from murderers, a large number of whom are sane, just bigoted and super cruel
Most people with mental illness are more likely to be victims of violence than perpetrate it statistically. That means “sane” or “normal” people have a higher tendency for violence than the mentally ill. Of course there are violent mentally ill people but they’re leas common than violent people in the general population.

Kennie please watch ‘Where Hands Touch’ or ‘Everything, Everything’! Both star Amandla Stenberg idk why she keeps being in bad movies🤦🏽♀️. Also, someone needs to call out people romanticizing teens with serious diseases in cinema.
I just watched a video about this. It was more about it in books but he talks about the movies that are based on these books. If you wanna watch the video about its called; Sick lit and the romanticization of terminal illness by James Tullos. I wasn't into these books when I was younger but heard about them found this video interesting.
I've never seen the movie, but I read Everything, Everything and I quite liked it. The thing is,,,she didn't actually have a terminal illness, it was more about living vs *living* and I quite liked that theme. Like yes you can have every comfort in your home but can you really experience everything fully? Even just looking at the cover almost made me cry, just thinking about that.
I’ve had schizophrenia and bipolar disorder (along with anxiety) and while its been difficult to live with it and feel like im not different in any negative way, I’m just another normal person. The media has had (for the most part) a very negative way of portraying such mental disorders and you speaking on it and how incorrect it is, is amazing. Thank you so much for that ❤️
Please do hangman’s curse, it’s a Christian horror movie. Enough said. As an edit I asked for her to watch this movie back in December of last year. Because I think the plot is great but I want her to grill the only scary movie I was allowed to watch at 13 (besides the boogeyman with Ashton Cult) and know the hell I had to go through with a badly made but well plotted horror movie. I don’t care it was Christian, I was raised southern baptist and am not one now. There’s a line at the end I endure forever to memory and I want to experience that with someone else how funny and comical this horror movie demonizing people that look different.
Something I loved about this movie is how uncomfortable Rebecca's parents were around her. Like they seemed SO uncomfortable and almost a little scared of her.
Yayyy! My sister and I trashed this movie so hard when we watched it. Also their massive misunderstanding and misrepresentation of mental illnesses that aren’t actually dangerous is so sad, especially because a lot of people believe it. Also I couldn’t remember the names of any of the main characters through the entire movie.
There is this little known film called "Stalking Laura" that stars Brooke Shields, and it's based on a true story. It's on Amazon Prime, and fits into that fatal attraction genre. Might wanna check it out
can i just say she is keeping us fed during this pandemic. THANK god my fav youtube artist is still active💕💕she’s funny and cute and probs the best person ever lol
16:43 the way to solve that problem is to make mental health portrayal a more prominent part of movies. Even if it has absolutely nothing to do with the plot. Which yeah, will feel shoehorned in at first, but that’s also just kinda how life works. Unlike movies everything isnt always connected. Everything you find out about a person doesn’t “come back later” just have a character casually mention that they’re bipolar and see them take medication in a scene and have the rest of the movie have nothing to do with it. Same goes for the other portrayals that are usually linked in these types of movie (autism, bipolar, schizophrenia, ect.) the mental health problems that make people obsessed or crazy killers are 9/10 NOT these things and are entirely different (usually a combination of unique brain chemistry and early childhood traumas). However because we don’t know exactly how a mind like this works we also need to stop giving names to whatever they have in movies. Just say that they are mentally unwell and possibly unstable, because that’s probably the best description for what they are doing. Don’t show them taking medication because usually whatever they are dealing with aren’t things that can be medicated out of them.
Yo! As a person with a bipolar 1 disorder diagnosis, I really appreciate you going the extra yard to point out the squickiness of using mental illness as an excuse for random murderous motivation. Like it's hard enough dealing with depression and hypomania cycles without having random people look at me like I'm Dr. Jekyll, ya know? The greatest threat posed by the mentally is to ourselves, not others.

I work in a mental hospital and your thoughts are correct 😁. Most are polite people who just need medication for their illnesses.
Those early 2000s and 2010s looks make me so damn grateful instagram and snapchat weren't around to capture my ugly clothes lol
"And they were roommates!"
"Oh my gaaawd, they were roommates"
Leighton meester is such a great actress I was sooo creeped out by her lol that was the point tho
Would you ever do a collab with bestdressed? She has a film degree from ucla and I’d love to see you two watch a bad movie and dissect it 👀
That would actually be the best thing ever!!
that's the language of the gods right there
god-tier suggestion
I'm dying, Kennie
"A fedORA and a scarf??"
“And is that a VEST?”
@@hydeperv Early 2000's fashion WAS a travesty, honestly
15:01 when you're trying to hit the word count on an essay
"The dead sister that died, that passed on", sis, I laughed too🤣🤣🤣
Kennie please watch ‘Where Hands Touch’ or ‘Everything, Everything’! Both star Amandla Stenberg idk why she keeps being in bad movies🤦🏽♀️. Also, someone needs to call out people romanticizing teens with serious diseases in cinema.
I just watched a video about this. It was more about it in books but he talks about the movies that are based on these books. If you wanna watch the video about its called; Sick lit and the romanticization of terminal illness by
James Tullos. I wasn't into these books when I was younger but heard about them found this video interesting.
"Everything everything" wasnt a bad movie and the only thing wrong with "where hands touch" is the romance part
Every movie they try and make the actor who plays the boyfriend be the 'hot guy' but his face really pisses me off 🤦🏽 idk why
he was roses fiancé in the titanic. his face pissed me off too
Kennie: “We know it, we’ve seen the trailer.” Me, who hasn’t seen the trailer: *nodding in agreement like I’ve seen the trailer*.
everytime you said “aly or aj “ i couldn’t help but laugh 😭 bc idk which she is either
Thank you so much for that ❤️
UCLA’s dorms don’t look like that, as far as I know. I went to a gymnastics camp there and the dorms were not that nice...I wish 😭😭
Um... imma' need more details sis
Seriously, deets please
Please elaborate?😂???
That’s sounds amazingly bad
I’m trying to read the Wiki entry and I’m like WHAT???
That college dorm looks like a bachelor pad compared to what I paid for.
"And she meets Aly or AJ" lmao 😂💀
Something I loved about this movie is how uncomfortable Rebecca's parents were around her. Like they seemed SO uncomfortable and almost a little scared of her.
The "Aly OR Aj" is really taking me out like 😂😂😂😂 sis that's aly
Please do “thriller” next,it is literal booty butt cheek bad
"Booty butt cheeks" 😂💀 i coughed trying to laugh at this
What's that
Me and my dad put it on purposely looking for a dumbass horror movie and I guess we got what we wanted
@@AikiraBeats an incredibly funny,(not intentionally)black thriller on netflix, full of cliches and terrible acting.
Yayyy! My sister and I trashed this movie so hard when we watched it. Also their massive misunderstanding and misrepresentation of mental illnesses that aren’t actually dangerous is so sad, especially because a lot of people believe it. Also I couldn’t remember the names of any of the main characters through the entire movie.
14:58 My favorite gag in the episode. I love how it starts as just a blooper and just becomes a running gag.
There is this little known film called "Stalking Laura" that stars Brooke Shields, and it's based on a true story. It's on Amazon Prime, and fits into that fatal attraction genre. Might wanna check it out
THIS MOVIE IS MY GUILTY PLEASURE😭😭😭
SAME. I LOVE IT FOR NO REASON
Thx Wanderer I’ve watched it multiple times in the span of days. WHY? IDK😭😭
please make “crazyhoesbecrazying” merch
I second this notion

Rose's mom is in it too!
Can we all appreciate kennie's hair this video. Her hair looks stunning
This is the CW version of "single white female"
*CW version of like every lifetime movie
LMAOO💀💀
I can't be the only one But every time there's a brooding 25 year old teenager I sing along
Please please please do one on "Killer Klowns from outer space" I really need to see your commentary on it, it'll make my Quarantine
Please watch the “Bratz” movie ITS AWFUL
Wow this movie is literally Single White Female. Like there are identical scenes. That’s the movie that created all these tropes.
I literally made a comment about that 😆
Kennie: The Roommates
Me, an intellectual: aNd tHEn ThEY wErE RoOmMaTeS.
Please watch and do “Prom Night”. I need a watch party for this, because ... whew chile
Original with Jamie Lee Curtis or Remake
Kathalina Cat Honestly, either... But, I meant the new one.
I just love when you sing that "brooding hot 25 year old teenager" cracks me up every time and i need to chime in lol
