great video ... if i am doing a hotel room lets call it room 1, and within that room is an ensuite what is the best way to do this??do i tag each as separate giving it the same name or a dif name ??if i give a dif name then am i doubling up the schedule ???the end result is i want it to have room 1 for both rooms but to also have diff shading ?? also in another video you are taking about reporting flooring how is this done ....

Hi there, thanks for reaching out with the question. Alot to try answer there so bare with me and I'll do my best.
I would create a room for both the bedroom and the Ensuite if they have a different funciton in terms of Schema Colour presentation. If it is a repeating arrangement that is copied throughout your hotel floor plan I would follow this format.
Name the bedroom "Bedroom Type A" or similar. The associated Ensuite should be labelled "Ensuite A" to match. These room names can be used throughout - there is no issue with duplicate room names in Revit. However, you will require that each room placed has a unique Room Number ID as they cannot be duplicates in Revit.
With regards to the "Floor reporting" - without additional clarification of what you mean , I will try cover the basics. There is a number of ways of presenting the flooring so it reports. 1 way it to create departments of your rooms so each room type is assigned to a department. You can then use this as the basis for colourising your plan via a department schema, with the schema colours being representative of the floor finishes. I only would recommend this for projects in very early design development stages. My preferred way is to actually model the finishes as independent floors (10mm carpet/ 12.5mm Laminate / 2mm mipolam espirit etc) and then use Tags and schedules to report the floor particulars. This would be my preferred approach for Tender level documentation or higher.
Hope this all helps. Let me know how you get on.
