- This is a unique video following A Golden Eagle pair that laid two eagle eggs and brought a Red Tailed Hawk into their nest. They raised the Hawk to fledge in advance of their own eagle chicks fledging. I was able to photograph and video the history of this event. I have a three part narrative about this on my blog Mid Sierra Musings. There was a previous account of this on Vancouver Island with a Bald Eagle pair raising a hawk chick.
This happens more than people think...ty for sharing
This is one of the most incredible behaviour stories I've seen - fantastic - thanks!
Thanks Nick
Great, Dale and thank you very much to share a such beautiful story to a fan of last year little Spunky the one from Vancouver Island
WOW such a great story thank you for sharing !
The eagle nestlings also fledged about 20 days after the hawk.
@2:52 We have the first appearance of the 3rd chick. At this point we felt this was a runt eagle.
Thank you for capturing this activity
Thanks Bill
Wonderful❣️❣️❣️
I don't know what happened to the other comments. Sorry they are missing.
That is a awesome story!
Thanks Ezsel
Where can I find your blog? Fascinating.

But how that hawk egg came to eagle nest ?
It is more likely the hawk chick was brought into the nest for food and the adults decided to feed it instead. I never saw a third egg before I saw the third chick and I could see down into the nest from my view spot above.
