It's great to see Connie Stevens and George Burns working together again. When the show aired, Gracie Allen had passed away six months previously. George was also Connie's costar and producer on "Wendy and Me". A few weeks later Connie's last charting record, "Now that You've Gone", was heard on the air.
GB is the most popular funniest guy in the world. What can I say about RL, him and FG were great at their mimicking other stars. CS is another example, she's a great actress and comedian and singer you don't have entertainment like that anymore
Is'nt that a clever background? when the illusionist does the Portraits of the famous men (really excellent, I must say) the orchester plays "Before the parade passes by"
Loads of fun!! Better than Wendy and Me! ;) By the way, Gary, I don't see the Bette Davis one they promote at the end of this. I'm assuming you don't have it or it doesn't exist? Or maybe I just can't find it on the playlist?
All the episodes I have are posted; beyond that I really don't know how much of the series still survives. My impression is that most, if not all, of the shows from the 3rd season on are preserved. But because this series was never validly copyrighted, you'll never see a DVD release of it by ABC or whatever entity currently possesses the original videotapes. All you can find are bootleg sets, and the sellers never list which episodes are included. After buying a few sets of HP episodes and re-purchasing the same episodes over and over, I've given up trying to find more at this point. But my feeling is that there are many, many, many more episodes available.
Remember, the Zacchinis are trained professionals, seriously. Please, for real, do not attempt what they're doing yourself. 53:49 or 53:50 What did some unknown male say? "Andiamo" or something else?
Hi everyone. I am not a big fan of George Burns- although Jewish he's not my type, I don't care for his humor:he's dated and sexist and his big cigar is a poor prop these but hats off to him for hosting the Greenwood County Singers. I love the two pieces on this show that they do- just fantastic. Amazing how back in this day a folk group like the Greenwood County Singers could have shown up on Hollywood Palace. Harmonica solos and all!

Greenwood singers, Four eyed folk singers a bad imitation of the Serendipity singers and New Christy Minstrels...never read of them. Record breakers? Doubt it. unless he meant the audience were breaking their records after hearing them.
That was a lot of fun.
i love it!
Great person

I just love the segment with the Greenwood County Singers- live, so real. Anne is one of my favorite songs ever!
My gawd! George Burns is amazing! His witty remarks are still hilarious to this day!
52:06--the famed Capitol Records tower, just up Vine St. from the Hollywood Palace, behind the Zacchinis.

Wow: the young Wayne Newton is a complete replica of k.d. lang!
Wow, KD Lang is older than Wayne Newton? I think you'be got that backwards... K.D. Lang is a complete replica of Wayne Newton.
Believe k.d. held Johnny Carson down while Wayne punched out his lights.
Connie Stevens--age 80; Wayne Newtown--age 76.
