You need to get a coring attachment so you can get more bowls out of the big blanks. Probably make less chips on the floor too. That new lathe is a beauty!

Simon - you scared me good when you went from fast and silent to instantly normal speed and sound. Thought one of those turning accidents was happening. Hate those. I did get my new 18-36 in 220. Had to run out a new service line to the shop but that's OK because I also bought a Laguna 220 band saw. Now, looking at your new one, I like that secondary controller on the right side. I am wondering if I can get one of those for my 18-36 220. Will have to look into that - so thanks for letting me know that exist. Like the bowl too. Will be looking forward to you finishing that. Safe turning Northern Cousin.

Plus the laguna bandsaw!!! You definitely have some awesome tools! I'm looking for a small bandsaw, cutting wood by hand isn't fun 😂... But with the medication I am on I don't like the chop saws, to big of a blade and I like seeing where my hands are lol... Almost had an accident but luckily my brother was there stop me from pulling the handle down!
Your kiddo was hilarious in the video! Who doesn't like to smash packing material! Also, your tattoo is an awesome piece of art

If you have the room it's nice having two lathes. Congratulations on the new lathe.
I see you have a large Laguna bandsaw as I do. I hate the guides and I can't get it tuned.
I'm going to sell it at a garage sale at a big loss.
    Cheers

The video indicates a very strong motor. I am upgrading from a Harbor Freight to the same 24/36 as yours. Among many problems I had with the Harbor Freight was with the motor bogging down. I could only turn small bowls and projects. I purchased the 240 volt model to make sure I got as much power as needed. Is yours the 120 volt or the 240 volt, and did you experience and strain on the motor when turning that large bowl. As always, very fine job. Thanks!
