This is an excellent video! Thanks so much for taking the time to do a proper analysis. I was toying with the idea of getting a cloverleaf for my IBC grow on tank, not to get it to warm temperatures but just to take the chill off and keep it around 12/13 deg over the colder months. It’s great that you re-ran the coatings at the lower temps so at least I know that’s not totally unaffordable!

Our winter weather weather here in southern Ontario Canada, -18C last week although it hit -40C a couple weeks back, pretty much prohibits heating a pond for all but the very very rich. Most koi keepers overwinter their koi outdoors and hope they survive the winter. I'm fortunate that I can overwinter mine indoors so the cold is not a problem but moving them from outdoors to in and back out again year after year does result in stress for both the koi and myself.

I’d be heating to no more than 12-14 tbh . Great video mate

Nice series of videos mate on the i12. I’m thinking of getting one myself, but my pond is 4500 gallons and I’ve heard conflicting advice on what size pond it can heat. Any suggestions in your experience? Cheers

Thanks for watching. The i12 has worked non stop and I haven't had a problem. Once the water is up to temp it hardly runs. I was recommended a smaller unit for my pond but they were out of stock so I ordered the i12. Highly Recommended and very efficient and cheap to run

I’ve got the remora i12 on my 3700 gallon koi pond. It’s worked well over the last two years during the winter. I am just wanting to know what setting do you have it on as mine is set to eco mode and I’m wondering if I should set it to full heating mode as when it is on eco mode it can be on for a couple of days just trickling a bit of heat into the pond to maintain the pond temperature which is costing money. When I bought the heatpump I was told it was ok for my size pond by the company that sells it here in the uk.

Sorry for the delay. I just run the ASHP on the Smart Heating Mode and it just sits there quietly working away

Thanks for watching. I was gobsmacked with not only the low running costs of the Remora but the high running costs of the Cloverleaf. Yes I agree with you about some people struggling with the costs but I am surprised at the new ponds emerging too
