Good job Dave😎 You may have already noticed but the good thing with the Thermotec heatpumps is that they incorporate a soft start feature so it doesn't pull too much current on initial start up, which is why the fan is always so quiet to begin with. Then they regulate themselves according to demand and the air temperature around them. well done on resisting temptation to raise it straight up to 18c😅 great way to induce white spot!😫 You WON'T regret buying it!👍😎
Wrighty is very pleased with the same heat pump, good choice Dave, will be interesting to see what you think of running cost, great entertaining video.
No! Don’t feel inadequate! Just because I have a heater I’m still a good and normal cock-ups will continue. You know what they say…… all the gear and no idea 👌🏼😬
@@edenkoipond Only just started raining here, but been in the garden most of the day. Did you set the YEAR correctly on the ASHP? It was 2020 in the video 😀
Hi Dave, you'll love it mate. What did you get, the 9kw or the 12kw, I must have missed it in the video. Just one thing, I might be wrong, but the gap at the back of the heater from the shed, should be at least 30cm clearance (or it use to have to be) yours just looked a bit close mate. Take care, Terry.
Hi Terry - I went for the 12kw. Yep - you are dead right, it should be 30cm and in only around 20cm 🤦🏼♂️ Spoke to a few other owners who are the same and tough wood they seem to be ok. I’m planning to change my filtration this year and will make sure I address this issue. Hope you are well - looking forward to your next update 👍🏼
Hiya bud…. Honestly, the heaters are a game changer. The upfront cost is a lot to swallow but well worth it. I’m at 18.5 at present and it’s costing no more than £25 a month. I run a 12kw on 14200 litres of water. 👍🏼👍🏼
I’ll keep you posted. Really surprised how little the thing is on so far. I’ll do you a fake video claiming only a few pence a month you can show the wife 😂😂
Hi dave im getting my ashp plumped in tomoz , this might seem a stupid question but i also have a nexus filter gravity fed When doing a filter clean obviously i turn pump off to clean but do you also turn ashp off at plug when cleaning nexus ?😂 not seen anyone mentioning it o video's ive watched
Honestly - I don’t turn it off. Touch wood it’s been ok. Seeing this comment did make me google and it would appear that sensible people do switch theirs off 🤦🏼♂️ Don’t be a Wally like me 😂😂
Heating engineers would put primary pro insulation on the external pipework to make sure the heat all goes to the pond and not leak into the atmosphere. It's a short external run but still.
Just googled the primary pro. At very least I’ll get the pipes lagged/foil wrapped. I need to do all my pipework really as skimmer line is out in the open too. Thanks for the info 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
welcome to heat pump club hope you got deep pockets lol not that cheap to run you want to turn up 1 degree day and will not cost as much I'm sat 17c on my pond do love my heat pump as have my set at 25c over the summer and I had some good growth last year and it cost me more in food lol head over to my channel and have look pal at leebo koi
Great stuff Dave, I feel warmer just watching lol, enjoy the sun, ish, cheers Terry,
Pond is lovely and warm. Meanwhile, the kids and wife are wrapped up in blankets freezing cold indoors 😬😬😬
Thats gonna make a huge difference to your pond and koi now Dave…. 👏🏼 👏🏼 👍🏼
Hopefully so! Will keep all updated 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Wtf Dave? I watch your content to feel better about making my own mistakes with my pond. Watching this made me feel inadequate. 😂 Nice work!

Hi Dave, see you got a ASHP now, looks good, how's it been Running, I'm looking to get one of these, what is your water volume total Dave?

Sorry I missed it how much was this one and would it heat 10'000 gals please great video s
These go for around £2400. Cheaper brands available. For 10k gallons you’d be looking at much much bigger than my one 👍🏼
Great videa Dave, can we have a running cost on this unit as I'm trying to persuade the wife to allow me to purchase one 😅
