To be honest, this song was TOP's own creation, he felt sick when writing it because he had to choose between his girlfriend or his career, and this is the story of when he was about to debut. he often lied to his girlfriend and could only meet his girlfriend during break time after that he came back again but his girlfriend felt that TOP didn't love him and gave TOP a choice to debut or break up.

I was shocked like the host when it was revealed that on a show that she was in her early twenties and he was still in high school. The rumor is she introduced him to GD and YG ( but not sure if that is true) but they broke up when he went to train at YG entertainment. It was said that she broke it off, and this song is suppose to be about the situation. So, I guess in a way this was about his first love and heartbreak. Apparently, he was not going to sing it again, due to the ex-girlfriend getting married but he did some years later.
