I have decided I'm going to pick 24 items that are older in my collection. I'm going to do a no pan left behind also, I want to see what formula and palettes I really enjoy using. I'm going to be decluttering items that don't bring me joy .. I would like to eventually have a more curated, useable collection. You picked some great things that will probably last for the year.

I’m already thinking of a plan to pan list. Super proud of myself for the things I accomplished this year! I have so many empties I am so excited! I don’t specifically choose 22 in 2022 or 23 in 2023… just a product or a couple products in each category that i want to focus on.

Loved seeing what focus products are coming in the new year! It's always so satisfying to say goodbye to older products knowing that you got your money's worth! I will be doing this later in the month and I'm having fun looking through my products and making a plan! I did purchase the Cosmic Brushes Gothic during their restock and I received an email yesterday that it has officially left the UK! So hopefully I will be receiving it soon!

Picking a number that works for you is great! I had a hard time picking out 24 items myself, and wonder about even having 25 next year! But I will do my best to get these items rolled out and I can’t wait to hear how you are doing with your items!

Erin, I'd love to see where & how you store your products. How do you store your panning products? For example, all of your 2024 panning products, are they in a basket you just grab for them as you need them. I don't have a vanity or desk to sit and put on my makeup or store it on top where I can see what I'm panning. So I have been finding it difficult to keep things organized. Then I start pulling other things out because I get tired of using my panning items, but I do want to see progress. I hope this makes sense.
I can understand how it would be difficult to keep things organized without a set place to keep your items or where you use them. I do plan to do a vanity tour and how I store everything. I just added some new shelves for my palettes that I’m super excited about! I store my foundation and my ELF Halo Glow on my desk top, mainly so I can make sure the product settles and I can mark it. Smaller items like my lip liner and the eyeshadow stick, I keep that on my desk top as well, but everything else is in my drawers with the rest of that item’s category. I do also keep my palettes that I’m working on, on the desk top as well so they are easy to grab. For me, having everything in one basket would stress me out because I would be digging for products each time I do my makeup and my brain can’t handle that. 😂

In 2023 I have managed to completely use up exactly one product, a Bare Minerals skin tint. I tried out many mascaras and now have favorites I can repurchase. I have ONE eyeshadow pan out of 15 singles and 10 pallettes. I have also discarded several items due to age. The only products I use up completely are skin and body care. Trying to use things up this year!
Sounds like you were able to try out a lot of things in your collection and see what works for you and get rid of things that don’t! Finding the perfect mascara is awesome! Which ones are your new favorites?! One pan is great! If I didn’t have a focus palette over the past two years, I would most likely not have any pans in eyeshadow because I like to bounce around to different color stories.
I'm new to the makeup world, so I don't have many makeup items to use up in a year (maybe a lipstick) but I do have some mini and full size skincare items I wanna finish, I really wanna do 365 products (I know it's a BIG number but, some items are single use items, and others are products that will last for a few months like body mist) even if I don't get through all 365 products I really wanna see how many items I do use up. I’m doing 24 project pan for 2024! I need to reduce my makeup. This is my first time project panning, so I have a few items that I will probably finish by March. I know it is like cheating but I don’t want to set myself for failure and to give me a boost of confidence once those items are done. I don’t know if I should replace those items once I’m done with others in my collection let’s see. I can’t focus on an eyeshadow I have way too many and is giving anxiety. I need to declutter and see what I really like. For that reason I’m doing a no buy year, I need to reset my mind. I have way too much makeup for a regular consumer. 😂❤ 😂 Your project pan items are amazing I cannot wait for updates!
I will be doing a panning project as well, I don't know about 24 items, but it would be great if I could get that many finished. I don't think its cheating, because technical you have used the product up. It is a good motivating to finish a product. So don't feel like its cheating, it will give you momentum to continue. I too have too much makeup for an average consumer. This year I've panned products and have rotated through some categories and was able to determine what I liked and didn't and decluttered those. My inventory is slowly shrinking but I still have a lot. I wish you all best with your panning project for 2024. You can do it !

You made me chuckle about the eyesight comment. I think I have forgotten to watch the fab fit fun unboxing since we were/ are in the middle of moving. I think I have found my products for next year. Will be skincare and makeup though otherwise I doubt I will reach 24. Do you ever count mascara in yours?
I feel like it was just this year that my eyesight really took a turn. 😂 I hope you had a safe move and are getting settled in to your new place. Moving can be stressful, but it’s nice to be in a new place. I don’t count mascaras..I’ve always felt that mascara was an item that is “done” in 3 months so it’s not a challenge. I also don’t have a huge back stock of them, so I just use them in the order they came into the inventory. A few years ago, I had a lot of skincare sitting around and I worked through it so the items didn’t go bad. I’m glad you have your items in mind. And sometimes the goal doesn’t have to be to finish them, but rather to just get consistent use. I can’t wait for you to keep me updated on how you are doing!
@@erintaylorwrites yes so far everything went smooth. We moved from a bigger house into a smaller not ideal with two small kids and a dog as there is stuff everywhere now but I am slowly making my way through it. IKEA will get a visit so I can get things organised. Did not even bother unpacking makeup yet as I don’t have the time to apply anything. I automatically bin mascaras 3 months after I open them. But they are what could get me over the line when it comes to finishing products. I think my goals for next year are simply to hit pan in certain products and not necessarily finish it. I have been working for so long on my blushes and bronzers and I think for those never ending powder products I will just set the goal to hit pan then roll it out and move on to another one. I can always then later roll it back in to finish it. I think I have picked my palette although I have 4 in mind so not 100% sure it will be the one I am thinking. And then liquid and cream products I think I will pick 2 liquid blushes per season and set a usage goal of 30 uses for each. Lipliners will be the only products I hope to finish as well as lip oils/tinted lip balms. I really should write it down somewhere but that has to wait until the chaos is taken care off and Christmas decorations are set up.
@@INE479 I like your idea of breaking down the goals. Like hit pan and then move on. Also, if you have 4 palettes you want to focus on, could you pick one per season/quarter of the year? I’m going to do a rotation type project next year also, so my other products don’t get neglected.
@@erintaylorwritesso I think my Vieve Terra and Coloupop nude mood are everyday palettes and as such I will probably set myself a different goal for those. My third palette will definitely be my Colourpop The feels palette. And my 4th I haven’t really decided on yet. I have half a mind of just sticking with three and giving myself a goal of 100 uses on the first two and 50 on the The Feels palette. With the rule that I have to use each shade at least 5 times in the first two and two times in the third palette. That way I don’t just focus on my favourite shades.
