- Hard Ticket To Hawaii is the movie that finally brought together the peanut butter and jelly of awesomeness: rocket launchers, mutant snakes, and nunchuks. I think this movie has something to do with diamonds and the DEA, but none of that matters because they're not rocket launchers or nunchuks. I think I was going somewhere with this, but why would anyone even waste their time reading this when they could be watching ROCKET LAUNCHERS AND NUNCHUKS and, oh yeah, MUTANT SNAKES.

This is the kind of movie 12 year old me always hoped to find when renting a random VHS at the store. It's got everything an '80s kid would want; nunchucks, rocket launchers, tiddies, and dirt bikes.

I love Andy Sidaris, the man was a sports broadcaster who just happened to be best friends with Hugh Hefner so when he started producing movies he had an endless supply of beautiful women and athlete cameos. He made the type of films that he would want to watch, that meant a lot of explosions, a lot of borderline pornography and a lot straight up nonsense.
A love for explosions, porn and straight-up nonsense. So in other words: Andy Sidaris is just a normal guy.
Was he friends with Bob Guccione as well because there are some Penthouse Pets in Andy's movies?

Trivia night: The "belts" the "DEA agents" are wearing in the beginning are actually 1903 pattern British cavalry cartridge belts worn over the shoulder. Also, the island of Molokai (as seen on the hood of the jeep) is not generally a tourist destination since it is a leper colony. No joke.
BTW that rifle they are using is also just a little .22 Henry survival rifle. lol Pretty weak sauce compared to a rocket launcher!

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!! YOU MADE MY DAY!!! This movie is a classic from my childhood, it was shown on the broadcast channel SBT (Sistema Brasileiro de Televisão) here in Brazil, they didn't care if it wasn't suitable for children, it was shown in the afternoon, they rerun it several times. I've wanted to find out what the name of this movie is for years, I only remembered the frisbee scene! Thank you so much, I laughed a lot and I'm happy to now know the name of this pearl!!!! Cheers!!
I love Andy Sidaris movies. This is the sequel to Malibu Express, after that there is Picasso Trigger, and Savage Beach. This is called the Triple B series and stars 4 playboy playmates. One of the best movie series of all time. It is leaps and bounds better than the Marvel movies.

I remember it being very funny (intentionally) and is surprisingly well made for such a low budget film. The whole thing's available here on on RUclips for free so it's definitely worth a butcher's. 😉

Years ago, a coworker told me about this awesome movie death scene he found on RUclips (the Frisbee kill). A few weeks later I told him I actually had it in my collection and was watching it, and he could not believe me. Andy Sidaris made some pretty wild films and I'm glad that I got a bundle of them and (accidentally) started with Hard Ticket to Hawaii. I still need to finish the collection (Mr. Miyagi himself, Pat Morita, is actually in one or two of them).
If you can, Space Ice, make a video for Picasso Trigger one day. I'm pretty sure that has the blinded bodyguard scene which is just hysterical.
Maybe not everyone in the 80s knew how to make a good movie, but they at least knew how to make a fun movie.
