Comcast says cancel anytime. My past experience is that cancelling any Comcast service was extremely challenging and equally frustrating. As far as price goes, once you sign up to Comcast, you can count on frequent price increases. Maybe Comcast has turned over a new leaf. I let others decide.
I was a spectrum costumer, i've the same experience as you did, I had to raise my voice and fight with the person, i was talking too 30 minutes before they gave in and cancel my service
Exactly. Had my wifi & cell phones on xfinity. Incredible difficult to cancel & they kept charging me beyond my cancellation date. It’s was frustrating dealing with xfinity. Not again.
In the uk you pay for the channel then it’s an extra £6 per month for HD. eg Sky Sports @ £25 per month plus £6 for HD bringing the cost to £31 per month. It’s not any cheaper here in the UK.
Yep. That is why I also do not go for offers like phone etc. I just have 55 dollar a month internet. Then after the year they bump it up and then one has to renegotiate etc
you get the price increases because the low entry prices are promotional prices. On your bill you'll see under regular monthly charges you'll see when your promotion starts to expire. If there were no promotional prices for services, you'd be paying regular prices similar to other big company prices.
Comcast says that it will be selling Xfinity Flex devices at Walmart later this year. And if you choose to buy it at Walmart, you won't have to pay a monthly fee, or activation fee, i think.
I’m an Xfinity internet only customer and I’m not sold on this concept. Most of the lifestyle and entertainment channels in this plan, are already on Discovery + which I currently subscribe to for about $8 a month ad free.
now tv was created by sky tv, comcast bought them. The biggest difference is with sky you can select a entertainment package, sports package or movies package. and you could also get box sets
Thanks for letting us know about this, BUT I, for one, am staying away from that NOW streaming service, seeing as it doesn't really give you a lot and there are way better streaming services than that.
ypu should look up the Sky NOW Tv and see the difference. sky offer entertainment, sports or movies packages. Now tv is why comcast bought sky as now tv was ready made and comcast fucked it.
Except for Pursuit and Recipe channels, this is just a slimmed down version of Philo. Philo is $25. You can always add Peacock during your favorite sports season(s). Peacock’s current deal is &19.99 for a year ($1.67 a month).
The low cost of the service is possible because NOW doesn’t carry sports, major cable news channels and local TV stations that charge expensive carriage fees that have to passed onto consumers. If you need/want the full cable experience, it probably isn’t for you. Comcast has positioned it to compete with FrndlyTV, Philo and Sling which offer the same low cost live streaming TV service format.
I also wish that Comcast offered local NBC stations in the Now TV service, because Comcast owns NBC Universal, and it's cable networks, so they don't have to strike a deal with them in renegotiations.
Thanks Michael, I'm an Xfinity internet customer and I have a Flex device (though I don't really need it with my LG tv). I admit I was curious about this so your review is appreciated. Even though you say Philo is better, if this includes Peacock that's something to think about. I like that streaming service and we're about to lose it as an Xfinity perk. And it does have live MSNBC. 😊
If Cable TV was going to survive, than i think that there would have to be no hidden broadcast, regional sports, and rental fees, and just include everything in the price of the service. So if you signed up for a plan that costs let's say $30 a month, you would only pay $30 for the service, plus taxes. I also think that it's time that all cable channels be offered standalone, for a reasonable price like $5 for Bravo, but providers offering a $25 option with just locals and maybe a few premium channels, with no broadcast fees. That could help providers like Comcast, to try and stop cord cutting a little bit, and encourage current subscribers to continue to pay for RUclips TV, Hulu Live, and other live TV services.
Spectrum did this a couple of years ago in NYC. When I tried to cancel after the free trail period, they gave me $20 a month discount on my internet essentially making the streaming package free. A year later when I called to cancel, they gave me a $25 discount. Again, that was Spectrum not Xfinity. I have Xfinity now; I also have the level of Peacock that gives me my local NBC station. Am I correct that the Peacock that comes with NOW TV is a level lower than what I have?
I have Philo at $20 a month and live TV with an antenna in my attic and honestly very happy. I do have Max which I will cancel in Sept. and I just signed up for the peacock deal for $20 for the year. I do have Hulu/Disney bundle but it's for the kids and grandkids. I never watch it. I honestly just wish I had the OTA antenna and Philo and I would be happy. Peacock is ok too at the price I paid for the whole year.
Great video! I was all pumped up about this awesome service, but then my excitement took a nosedive within the first 10 seconds when I realized it's exclusively for Xfinity Internet customers. Bummer!
It would be the right live streaming service for me but you can’t currently sign up for it a la carte. You need to be a Xfinity Internet subscriber. That’s NOW TV’s biggest downfall.
Seems similar to philo. I'm taking a break from RUclips TV after the NBA season finishes dues to the high cost so am wondering what else I should get, if anything. Was looking for spanish channels as well like Telemundo and Univision. Any recommendations? I know I can get them with the antenna but I'm looking for something with dvr so I can watch on my own time
Looks like Comcast dropped the ball. Why don't they do, like the rest of the streaming providers open it to others not on their network? I think this is a major mistake they made.
No Roku support, no independent app, and no option to pay extra for more cloud DVR storage I think I will pass. It's a decent price, but I think it has a lot of room for improvement before they get people to switch from services like Sling and Philo and others.
I don't have access to Xfinity at my location, so can't sign up. My impression is this service is meant to keep Xfinity customers from jumping to one of a growing number of internet providers and may even be a loss leader. I can see them losing some cable TV customers to this service if they can get locals with an antenna, but don't know that it will be any more successful than Peacock was.
What do u suggest I just signed for astound WiFi/home phone after 30 yrs w xfinity I don’t know what app to choose so I can record my shows and watch🤷♀️
My problem is all I want are the channels not included. ESPN, and NESN. I couldn't care less about the rest. I can't get these anywhere. I cut the cord a while ago and didn't pick up a streaming service like this because most live TV is horrible and reruns. I only miss sports that I can't stream on ESPN and NESN.
I’m a Comcast internet only customer. I’ve gotten so use to watching free content from apps such as RUclips, Pluto, Sling, Tubi, Xumo that paying even $20.00 for the limited selection of channels offered by this package with Peacock bundled in is a hard pass for me. When my current internet deal $45 for 200 mbps is over, I may ditch Comcast all together if they can’t give me the same deal for another year. They also need to raise their 1.2 GB monthly data cap. The new Fiber and wireless internet companies in my area are all no data caps.
I’ve been with Comcast for 30 years never switched they wouldn’t lower bill I had cable phone WiFi So I switched to streaming it’s my first day I chose a new WiFi and now I have to choose a live tv app I guess I’m reading people like philo? Is this a good one does it have a guide and a way to record like the DVR did? I welcome any advice
I will stick to Peacock Premium plus, I do not like commercials, and all of the channels that Comcast does not own could demand higher rates every time there contract negotiations with Comcast is due, so I skip.
It says I can’t get it because I have essentials plus. I figured something so cheap was too good to be true. Oh well it won’t be long before they jack up the price,
If this was a stand alone service, that you didn't need comcast internet in order to have it, it might be worth the price, This feels like they're trying to get people to stick with their service not cut ties with them completely.
The Comcast Elite might have to wait a year to buy vacation home number. 144..... But the 20 New helicopters are getting custom paint, blades and rotors. All from 16 years of renting the same box and remotes and cords.. Plus 10-20 bucks every other month as new fees,,,,,etc etc etc... starting at 149 in 2009, never missed a payment and ended this week at 300 bucks for one DVR and Internet.... I set everything up solo...Comcast has NEVER been to my place....tried to stop service, They offered 88 bucks for Stream and Internet. ......Lets see how long it takes to get over 100... Wish me luck...Im now a rookie streamer. Cable my ENTIRE life. ruh roh....TY everyone
Let's just start off saying, it's about time Xfinity jump on the cord cutters train. But this is to much for the money. There are way better options than this. Even though it's convenient, it's still downcast have what you might need. Like the Xumo channels. Why pay when you can stream Xumo free anyways. Friendly is a way better option. More channels and better content. Plus it's 7 bucks. I think that NowTV needs to increase the channel package to attract more people. For get about the DVR services, nothing is worth recording anyway. But I hate to cancel it because they I might want to be grandfathered in. Ughhhhh.
It’s terrible because you have to have their internet service to get this terrible. I would forget it. This should be available to everyone even those who don’t have their internet service. No way Comcast forget it.
I took COMCAST to task over the BS of requiring their internet service to access cable tv I pay for over their xfinity app. They can take their cable and shove it where the Sun don’t shine. I turned all my equipment in and canceled service. I hope they go bankrupt and never heard from again.
Comcast says cancel anytime. My past experience is that cancelling any Comcast service was extremely challenging and equally frustrating. As far as price goes, once you sign up to Comcast, you can count on frequent price increases. Maybe Comcast has turned over a new leaf. I let others decide.

its like a time machine to something that would've been cool in 2007.
I'm glad to see they're at least trying, even if the service isn't ideal. Too bad it's not available in my area.
I was thinking the same thing. I don't think it's too late. As long as I'm saving some $$ bring it on. I'm not complaining lol...
I also wish that Comcast offered local NBC stations in the Now TV service, because Comcast owns NBC Universal, and it's cable networks, so they don't have to strike a deal with them in renegotiations.

I am trying to live Big 10 college football and love NFLfootball.
I don't want to restart that relationship.
Hi. Can add like an add on of Spanish channels. Usually $10 on regular cable
Fact: Now TV was first launch in the UK and Ireland by Sky which Comcast owns.
True!
I agree with you Michael! I would go for either philo or frndly tv over NOW TV. Philo is my second streaming service after youtube tv.
You got both?
Yes I have both youtube tv and philo.
That's doubling your live tv bills!

It's Comcast so don't expect value with the Service, if anything they may add-on storage and channel bundles in the future.
I have Philo at $20 a month and live TV with an antenna in my attic and honestly very happy. I do have Max which I will cancel in Sept. and I just signed up for the peacock deal for $20 for the year. Do you get any sports channels on Philo?
Thank you. My contract is up next month and I need to lower my bill.
Great video! I was all pumped up about this awesome service, but then my excitement took a nosedive within the first 10 seconds when I realized it's exclusively for Xfinity Internet customers. Bummer!
That's why I mentioned it up top! Maybe Philo is good for you?
I would say the $20.00 is a reasonable price, but NO ROKU, NO DEAL.
Just get an xfinity stream box. It's tiny and the first one is free with the service. I did that with my roku tc.
No local live channels?
..might as well get slingtv for a few more dollars and more channel options
Spend $10 and buy an antenna.
Thank for this informative tutorial. It was easy to follow. I think I'm sold with this alternative coz it appears to save me lots of money
It would be the right live streaming service for me but you can’t currently sign up for it a la carte. You need to be a Xfinity Internet subscriber. That’s NOW TV’s biggest downfall.
I like the mini guide.
Seems similar to philo. I'm taking a break from RUclips TV after the NBA season finishes dues to the high cost so am wondering what else I should get, if anything. Looks like Comcast dropped the ball. Why don't they do, like the rest of the streaming providers open it to others not on their network? I think this is a major mistake they made.
Exactly!
I have a Roku TV and so do my other family members.
Because they make no money on it. It's an add on, not a primary concern of theirs. They want your internet money, man
No Roku support, no independent app, and no option to pay extra for more cloud DVR storage I think I will pass. It's a decent price, but I think it has a lot of room for improvement before they get people to switch from services like Sling and Philo and others.
Yeah, for sure. Reminds me of a service I reviewed about 5 years ago called AT&T Watch TV. Didn't last.
I may need to put my Nana back on it because she just can't get the hang of the roku experience.
Are the channels actually live? Or any delay vs having a tv box?
All live TV streaming services have a slight delay over cable or satellite TV. Usually it's about 15 to 30 seconds.
I was waiting for your review 😊
What do u suggest I just signed for astound WiFi/home phone after 30 yrs w xfinity
I don’t know what app to choose so I can record my shows and watch🤷♀️
I just uploaded a video that should help ruclips.net/video/U23gssQeYWU/видео.htmlsi=Mo99A-CrMdxhlJUJ

espn watch
I wish their was a service for just local channels. Xfinity will give you local channels for 30/month PLUS another 25/month broadcast fee. F. that.
Has anyone figured out why Comcast’s own networks aren’t included?
I use my connect my xfinity to account channel apps so I can watch them any time through their apps, is this possible with Now TV?
I’m a Comcast internet only customer. I’ve gotten so use to watching free content from apps such as RUclips, Pluto, Sling, Tubi, Xumo that paying even $20.00 for the limited selection of channels offered by this package with Peacock bundled in is a hard pass for me. East coast xfinity has no data cap.
I’ve been with Comcast for 30 years never switched they wouldn’t lower bill I had cable phone WiFi
So I switched to streaming it’s my first day I chose a new WiFi and now I have to choose a live tv app
I guess I’m reading people like philo? Is this a good one does it have a guide and a way to record like the DVR did? I welcome any advice
Philo is good if you don't need locals, sports and news. It has an unlimited DVR!
It’s a good service when it works. The problem is it’s not compatible with anything even if their zumo box or casting.
For just 5 dollars more you get a lot more with philo
I am shocked that they don’t have any NBC/Comcast owned channels
Same
@@MichaelSavesSo no Comcast Sportsnet with regional sports?
@@inquizative44 The only sports with this "Now" plan is on Peacock. I explain in the video.
Do you get regional sports?
Not with this
what’s included in the Xfinity’s stream app?.. when I open it it says “$32.00/mo”
I have an LG TV, The Xfinity Stream app is available but it doesn't seem to be working, I'm stuck at the loading screen.
Will this work with VPN
Thanks Michael ☺️
Wow.. It's very different to the UK Now TV
I will stick to Peacock Premium plus, I do not like commercials, and all of the channels that Comcast does not own could demand higher rates every time there contract negotiations with Comcast is due, so I skip.
right now I would not get this service but I know for sure its got to add more channels and more dvr and they are going to have to keep the price down
I bought the subscription and it’s saying my account is not valid when I try adding new device
It says I can’t get it because I have essentials plus. I figured something so cheap was too good to be true. Oh well it won’t be long before they jack up the price,
Good point. I read that it's not available to Essentials customers. I will add that to my written review.
Philo doesn’t have local channels?
No it doesn’t
No Fios compatibility. No Roku support. No Turner channels. No thanks.
Thank you for this review👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
You should have mentioned that the Xfinity Stream is not available for Linux, which probably explains why Roku devices don't work.
If this was a stand alone service, that you didn't need comcast internet in order to have it, it might be worth the price, This feels like they're trying to get people to stick with their service not cut ties with them completely.

What the difference between Now tv and Philo ?? for $5 more you get more with Philo unless I am missing something why would anybody want this service
Sucks it doesn’t come with ESPN

Vast majority of these channels won't even exist in 5 years
possible!!
It’s terrible because you have to have their internet service to get this terrible. I would forget it. This should be available to everyone even those who don’t have their internet service. No way Comcast forget it.
It sounds like Philo
Isn't Now TV a British live tv service?
Yes but we have one in the U.S. now!! I know it's confusing.
Does it go by now tv in the UK and Xfinity now tv in the US?
And here we are one year later and Xfinity is promoting its NOW service for $30/month.
That’s with other services added to it!
Not much improvement the regular Stream works with Roku this one is not compatible a d they are still pushing Now TV 6:22
I only have Xfinity for internet and I’ve been done with cable for years now so no I don’t need it! I gave up on Live TV Services altogether.
You stream these channels free without now
The same Reality tv channels that Philo and Spectrum Essentials has
I do live streaming if I did I would go with this. And no bundle for crap channels
Doesn't work with a Roku!
It's not available on Apple TV or Roku, so for me it's pretty much useless.
Definitely not worth it. Personally. As a hispanic gentleman, i meed me some telemundo and univision, so that was the deal breaker 😅😂
Philo is better with unlimited cloud DVR and 64 channels.
I use Philo 20.00 month
The AMSR ad on TikTok is the reason I will never be an xfinity customer. Absolutely never. Even if it was free.
I took COMCAST to task over the BS of requiring their internet service to access cable tv I pay for over their xfinity app. They can take their cable and shove it where the Sun don’t shine. I turned all my equipment in and canceled service. I hope they go bankrupt and never heard from again.
I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole.
They needed to offer local news channels where they had owned stations. This would even move me from Verizon internet... it's a miss for them
Not True. I was told I would pay $120 month!
NOW TV is $20 a month as an add-on. That's a fact. I show the screenshots of the website. If you were told $120, it's likely a bundle.
Well RIP I have all Roku
NOPE, Not going to pay all the fees like sports, city con taxes, etc.
If you sign up for full cable, you’re going to pay those fees. It doesn’t offer all the content you see on cable, for good reason.
Xfinity is not available in my area, I can't really say
Frndly tv
DVR is a deal breaker
Another BS way to F over the little guy. The company has been grasping at straws since pandemic.
No local channels or sports? Not worth it.
Good yuo the best
No local channels or sports channels? That's why it's cheap. No channels worth watching.
No Tnt no USA no tbs no Fx sci-fi I don’t think so👎🏾
Isn't that almost like a philo wannabe?
Yes!
Ehh not channels I’m interested in. swing and a miss on content😊
Yeah... NO
Why BBC news from the UK why not an American news channel? This RERALLY sucks.
But no live sports at all. For me, it’s not worth it!
Sorry - no USA channel - deal-killer for me.
Not for firesticks
I'll stick to Philo and Verizon internet at 45 dollars a month.
