  • The aim of the body scan meditation is to be aware of the different parts of your body and allow yourself to experience how each part feels without trying to change anything. The body scan moves between a wide and narrow focus of awareness; from focusing on your little finger to holding the entire body in awarenes.
    The body scan is best done lying down but it that is uncomfortable perhaps sit on a chair or even try it standing.

      Thank you for your soothing version! I used this in an MSc project and the participants really enjoyed it. A participant even lowered her blood pressure after 4 weeks use! I would love to know more about why you conducted it in this way. Thanks again!

    Excellent Body scan! I have PTSD and have found the body scan to be the best mindfulness practice for me. I had to start out slowly with 5 minutes, then 10. Today was my first attempt at 15 and this was the first video I tried. It was so extremely calming. Thank you! I feel more present. I am definitely savi g this practice to use over the next few weeks. And subscribing to your channel!

    This has helped me very much. I was having an intense panic attack, and the 15 minutes gave me enough time to come out of that state and still have a really nice body scan meditation.

    I just came from an anxiety not to be confused with a panic attack and this really helped me to calm down and feel good again. I tried a couple before this didn't really like them than come to this one witch really helped.
    Thanks. I'll definitely come back to this.

    It would be great if you make a video on what body scan does & how it helps a person.
    What do I understand from different sensations?
    Sometimes the sensations are clear, at other times no sensations or unable to connect, what's the understanding behind it?

    • @LewisPsychology
      @LewisPsychology  2 года назад

      Thanks for your comment. I would suggest you don't try to analyse the sensations or lack of sensations, notice without judgement. You may find this video helpful:
