The energy density of a lithium-ion battery or cell is measured in Watt-hour rating (Wh rating). The greater the energy density of a lithium battery, the greater the potential hazard in transportation. This blog and video covers how to calculate or find the Watt-hour rating for a lithium-ion battery.
This video gives you 3 ways to find or calculate the Watt-hour rating of a lithium-ion battery-checking the battery itself; checking documents like the product spec sheet, SDS, or test summary; and calculating the Watt-hour rating using other data (voltage and amp hours).

The Wh rating of a lithium ion battery is not a measurement of how much energy (in Watts) the battery will expend over one hour. A Watt is one Joule per second. An hour is 3600s. One Wh is 3600 J. The Wh rating of a battery is a measure of how much energy is in the battery.

      Exactly right! 👍
On a related matter, I can't stand it when people (typically newscasters or RUclips content creators who obviously have no idea what they're talking about) talk about kilowatts as if that's a measure of energy, or "watts per hour", which is utterly meaningless. That really drives me nuts!
