Cant hate him for it, but at the same time it was a wise decision to get them, because back then (and probably even now), everyone wanted to hear more from a new rapper and that was bringing more people from his neighbourhood to showcase the world they are from and "flesh" out what they were about. Also as a white rapper, bringing in a bunch of black rappers could only cement him as a authentic hip hop artists and not just a gimmick like Vanilla Ice or Slim Jesus was. Im not saying Em was thinking that deep about it, but I'm sure it made sense to im as well, outside of showing loyalty. Edit: Oh and also, Eminem has never come across as someone who really cares about being a major star and being as rich and famous as he could possibly be. I can’t keep track of who’s on who but basically 90% of the best selling albums are on four labels and all those labels had more hits than shady records. Think Confessions by Usher, Love Below/Soeakerbox by Outkast, Britney Spears, Nelly, Lincoln Park, all these albums were bigger than the albums you mentioned , with possible exceptions of 50 cent and Eminem but even then, Lincoln park sold more than 50 cent, Britney Spears too.
