Some people think Jeff Bridges' singing isn't too good. Personally I think it's fine but if there's any lack of pitch or whatever, that would actually fit Lir more, for he's not a Man of musical or literary talent (as he says himself), but him singing his words in spite of those, makes his song all the stronger.
He’s light years better than Mia Farrow 🙈 …. I’m a trained singer and actually quite like his performance. He has a very nice warm, gentle tone - and as you said, that it’s NOT pristine technically perfect, fits the words and his character.
Thanks for pointing this out. Not something you'd notice off the bat or if you're not privy to reprise pieces. Been wondering this, but haven't taken the time to listen until now. Just makes the song that much more special ❤
I've had time to write a book about The way you act and look But I haven't got a paragraph Words are always getting in my way Anyway, I love you That's I have to tell you That's all I've got to say And now I'd like to make a speech about The love that touches each But stumbling, I would make you laugh I feel as though my tounge were made of clay Anyway I love you That's all I have to tell you I'm not a man of poetry Music isn't one with me It runs from me It runs from me And I tried to write a symphony (Once, when I was searching) But I lost the melody (Somewere out reach) Alss I only finished (far away) half And finish I suppose I never may (In a place I could not find) Anyway I love you That's all I have to tell you Now that I'm a woman That's all I've got to say Now I know the way That's all I've got to say Now I know the way That's all I've got to say
I felt bad for lir. I wrote a fanfiction story where Amalthea doesn’t turn back to a normal animal regular unicorn but instead turns into an anthrofied furry type unicorn person like you see in furry art even who is like Minerva mink on animaniacs or Cleo on heathcliff. Lir and Amalthea are together now as a mixed species of person couple
Just finished the book! I highly recommend it, for those who haven't, fair warning many of the lines in the movie are also found in the book! So be prepared......
This song is so nostalgic for me and my childhood...The Last Unicorn is one of the greatest animated films of all time. I almost want to cry hearing this song...lol absolutely beautiful...
I knew this sounded familiar to me hearing it on The Orville. This was the first movie I ever purchased for myself and it will always be dear to me. Makes me so happy to have heard it in a new format.
I absolutely adore this movie and its soundtrack!! its pure beauty!!! BTW i can't be the only one brought here because there are some beautiful renditions of this song in "The orville" right?
Just finished the movie on youtube, i love the two of them, star crossed lovers with a distant end. I wish he had become some sort of immortal hero or, fair knight that rides with the lady
Molly: "Lir, she's an animal you can't!!!" Lir: "Molly theres no laws against the unicorns i can do whatever i want with it" me and my best friend always make fun of this prince Lir character because hes basically in love with an animal lol *don't take this seriously*
To be honest, this was my least favorite song because I didn't care for his tone. Now, it just hits completely different. Probably thanks to all the eq and auto-tune saturated music out there. Not that this doesn't have certain eq elements, but it sounds so raw and natural. Which makes it priceless ❤ On another note, absolutely love that this is actually Amalthea's counterpart song. Didn't notice til someone pointed that out, and I'm absolutely glad~ Neither of them are perfect, and I think it really fits the song and situation. When has a unicorn felt that type of love to express? One of the biggest weaknesses of a knight is they're always preoccupied with great conquests. Yet their biggest feat of all is being vulnerable in the face of potential heartache.
The song is beautiful .But I don't like the way it's sung here. I know it from "The Orville" and there it's sung by Leighton Meester and Scott Grimes. Beautiful voices and they fit the song so well.

It's perfect.
ok, it still sounds shit
The fact that his voice is cracking and imperfect is perfectly in keeping with his character and how he's just an awkward guy serenading his love.

exactly. Still one of the most beaultful duets ever
Amathea's reprise of Now that I'm a Woman is beautiful
Thanks for pointing this out. Not something you'd notice off the bat or if you're not privy to reprise pieces. Been wondering this, but haven't taken the time to listen until now. Just makes the song that much more special ❤
I've had time to write a book about
The way you act and look
But I haven't got a paragraph
Words are always getting in my way
Anyway, I love you
That's I have to tell you
That's all I've got to say
And now I'd like to make a speech about
The love that touches each
But stumbling, I would make you laugh
I feel as though my tounge were made of clay
Anyway I love you
That's all I have to tell you
I'm not a man of poetry
Music isn't one with me
It runs from me
It runs from me
And I tried to write a symphony
(Once, when I was searching)
But I lost the melody
(Somewere out reach)
Alss I only finished (far away) half
And finish I suppose I never may
(In a place I could not find)
Anyway I love you
That's all I have to tell you
Now that I'm a woman
That's all I've got to say
Now I know the way
That's all I've got to say
Now I know the way
That's all I've got to say
The greatest love song in history to me.
Just beautiful. No other word for it.
amalthea and lir...still a better love story than twilight
How about Wolf Children's Hana and the Wolfman or Shape of Water? or Kyle and Charolette (deer woman and human man) on Bojack Horseman?
Better than Romeo and Juliet
I totally agree!!!
ITS FUNNY CUZ ITS A STORY OF LUST TURNED LOVE
I felt bad for lir. I wrote a fanfiction story where Amalthea doesn’t turn back to a normal animal regular unicorn but instead turns into an anthrofied furry type unicorn person like you see in furry art even who is like Minerva mink on animaniacs or Cleo on heathcliff.

This song makes me cry every time
Me too

I hear you.. as soon as I heard those first guitar notes on the Orville, I grabbed my partner’s arm and yelled, “OMG LAST UNICORN.”
A good example of how beautiful duets are. I wonder why there aren't many.
The Orville brought me here.
Same
Same
Me too.. I knew I knew the song but could not for the life of me remember where from
Same 🥺 and I’m in fucking tears 😂
If this isn’t playing at my wedding I’m not going
One of the best love songs ever written! And that‘s all I‘ve got to say!
Jimmy Webb is an amazing song writer. Blessed he wrote these songs.
This is probably the best song in the movie imo
In my Garfunkel playlist with his version and the version with vocals by America.
Huh, I didn't know that Garfunkel did a cover of it. I'll have to check it out. Thanks.
Lt. Malloy😍

I was looking up this same theme last night...amazing, but then also not surprising when you're so magical in every other way too💜💙😚🤗💞💖💘❤🧡💚
How does it feel to be happy lol
Liebe kann so schmerzhaft sein 😢
Did anyone else thought King Haggard looked like Mr. Burns from The Simpsons?
Excellent...
I do now.
Just finished the movie on youtube, i love the two of them, star crossed lovers with a distant end. I wish he had become some sort of immortal hero or, fair knight that rides with the lady
So this is Jeff Bridges

unicorns are mythical creatures, not animals... sentient beings
Lovely. Xxxxxx

Gonna be mine and my boyfriend's first dance song when we get married
