I began taking welding my sophomore year, never thought I'd fall in love with it. But two years have gone by and I'm really looking forwards to pipelining. Old timers are the best companions for experience
I want to be a Combination welder. But rig and pipeline welder somewhere in the middle. Specialist in TIG. Success means I made my family proud, my future kids will have a better life than I did. And I'm content with what I've accomplished.
I wanna be a pipeline welder but I'm just starting out so I'd rather get a welder helper spot to learn all ropes n what not and do more practicing, I also have own rig n welder. Great video Austin!
I've recently found your videos and they/you are extremely helpful and very informative! Grew up welding on cattle trailers and big rigs, took my skills to a vehicle fab shop, but I've wanted to pipeweld and travel since day 1. Trying to transition into the pipeline life and head back to welding school. I've faced tons of criticism and hate being a woman in the industry (no clue why people would care that much, I sure don't lol) I'm still going to keep on truckin'. Watching your videos and the positivity is definitely motivating!
Pipeline welder, I’m 18 starting at MTI taking the 10 month program for welding and pipe fitting to get all the certifications I can, I have been into welding since I was 12 where my grandpa taught me what welding is and I began my path of welding with a dream of owning a go cart, my grandfather said the only way I could have one is if I built my own and I did just that, big fan of yours your videos are awesome and informative!
My son just graduated and also is working in the welding field. He found your page a while back and tried to get me ( Mom) to watch. Well I did! Young man you have your head on straight and are doing a fine job 😊 Keep giving good advice and God will bless you and your business 😀
My story is similar to ours votech, 2 yrs in a fab shop an now I’m running a tubed f350 with sa200. I’m a welder on a railroad bridge job right now an I’m teaching one our hands to weld. I’ve learned that not everyone is willing to teach so I chose to teach everyone that shows interest has the will to learn. Me and my helper spend a lot of nights in the hotel parking lot practicing welding.
im 14 and my teacher asked me what do you want to be. It used to be a game warden then it was a heli-logger but then i thought to my self I love welding and said imma be a pipe line welder. Thank you so much for this vid it helped a lot
Was a helper for 4yrs then went to vo tech school for 1yr. Worked in a pipe fab shop for 3yrs. Putting my truck together this month. Always been in the oil and gas field of pipeline work. Definitely a fabricator/pipeline welder but I will go anywhere and learn anything new. I'm from San Antonio, TX there's a lot of work here in Texas. Good videos man 👌🏽
My dream job is to be a rig welder . Im on my senior year of highschool and when i graduate i wont hesitate to get into a company and slowly build my self up.
I plan on going back to school next year for welding ideally want to get on the pipeline for the money so i can raise a family and not worry about money constantly
i’d love to be a pipeline welder, or line up w a proper union. i’m 43 & just about 1/2 thru welding school. I have a fab welding job in a shop back home, but am looking to go all in on the pipeline or rig out at least. I know there’s lots of jobs in refigeration and would be totally grateful working in that industry, or on a rig. my version of success is to financially support my household, get all of our debts paid off, get some good savings going and purchase some property (did I mention I want that 1-ton dually!!) thx Austin
Pipeline welder for sure. I landed a welder helper job at a pipeline right out of high school through a temp agency and it was a really great experience. Being young and dumb I made some bad decisions and ended up with a low paying and skill-less job. Now 13 years Im looking to get my foot in the door at any welding job. Thank you for the great content sir.
I went to welding school in Dallas in 1963, when I finished I came back home and went to work at a saw mill in east Texas, I worked there for about 4 months, left that and got a truck driving job. I was going to go into pipeline welding ,but the call of the open road was to strong, this lasted until 1968, went to work for the city I lived in, Public works director, this lasted until 1984,quit this job..I know I needed to find a steady job,so I bought a restaurant and worked it for 30 years. all this time I meant to be a pipe line ........Oh well it was a hell of a ride.....Love your show and your attitude..............................................JS*

I’m 20, one year out of high school, and 3 weeks left of welding school. I already have my own truck, sa200, and pipeline bed. I’m headed up to North Dakota soon to go be a helper for a couple months. Im going to buy a cougar 5th wheel. And before I become a helper I’m going to buy a miller big blue 400 stainless model. Since I don’t have any other loans, I’m just going to splurge and buy a brand new machine.

Awesome video Austin! I'm shooting for rig welder, to stay flexible but really hoping to stick close to pipeline in Colorado if possible. I'm glad I did the military first, and got a lot of life experience and understand the money side of life. Great advice about doing what you say and not what you do. I wish someone had have given me some advice about mo ey and what not when i was younger. No stress worse than money worries

I live in my camper now and work as a manager of a tractor supply and I’m saving money to get my cdl. I love welding and wish I hadn’t given it up
I've been getting experience doing misc factory welding jobs, and I especially like my current one, except it's not where I ideally want to be - just a step on the way there. I have no experience with pipeline or rig, but have been wanting to eventually get into that - partly because more money, but also more experience and being in new locations or outside is nice as well. I'm leaning towards pipeline but haven't really put too much effort in that direction yet.
That’s alright. It’s better to be patient with it anyway. At least you’re getting welding experience. That’s where it all starts. I hear ya about being outside. That’s one of the reasons I love doin rig welding.

I’m on my 2nd semester at my tradeschool, my plan is to eventually make it to the pipeline, I’m always willing to learn more, so if anybody has any tips on anything welding related let me know!
I'm 35 going back to school for welding. My profession was in cannabis farming in northern California ans those days are over so I'm going to school kinda nervous
i took welding my senior year in high school and loved it, wished i would’ve done it all of high school. i graduated in 2022 and went into the oil field and there would sometimes be welders come out and fix things. But anyways i’ve started a welding job about 3 months ago and want to do rig welding, but i don’t know what companies to try and go to in the future any advice?
I rigged out last year and now there's nothing out there..I've had to be a helper at a few jobs but now those have disappeared. Maybe it's because I'm in my 30s and most my welders were younger than me..I'm about to give it up and sell my machine..this industry is beyond stressful 🙃
I want to be a rig welder. I have small welders. I'm making horseshoe crafts to get better at welding. I have a small hobby farm. I'm always fixing something.

Pipeliner but I’ll take anything I can get right now. Welded my junior and senior year of high school. Starting college this fall at the local community college and taking the welding courses. Trying to find any connects I can right now.
You’re on the right track. 👌😎
I’m not sure what I want to do I’m leaning towards rig welding but want to be a in the pipeline welder at the same time.
Looking to go work the pipeline! I’m working on building some tanks in Casper Wyoming right now! So much pipeliner work out here!
Yes. Lots of work in that area for sure.

I want to be a pipeline welder, I’m currently in a CC welding class for my senior year and a CNC technology class
I’m on my 2nd semester at my tradeschool, my plan is to eventually make it to the pipeline, I’m always willing to learn more, so if anybody has any tips on anything welding related let me know!
I wanna be a rig welder and a pipeline welder in school now
Pipeliner Yee Yee! Thanks for the info!
I'm trying my hardest to get my foot in the door as a pipeline welder.
I'm 35 going back to school for welding. My profession was in cannabis farming in northern California ans those days are over so I'm going to school kinda nervous
im from florida and my school has a welding/shop class it is only 10th grade and up so i have to wait next year for the class
Pipeline is my dream
Great video Austin! My favorite day of the week. Also, I want to be pipeline welder. Happy Friday Austin!
Thank! Happy Friday to you too!
Austin thanks my man
I would love to be both a rig and pipeline rig
Great video boss
Pipeline welder because I love to travel I'm a senior in high school and plan on going to Missouri welding institute
That’s a good place to start 👌😎
I’m a senior to man I plan on going to MWI too
@@arosswelding yes it is many people from my welding class at votec are currently going to MWI
i took welding my senior year in high school and loved it, wished i would’ve done it all of high school. i graduated in 2022 and went into the oil field and there would sometimes be welders come out and fix things.
I want to do either rig or pipeline I graduate in late October early November
I would wanna be a pipeline welder and maybe after several years, a rig welder
I want to be a rig welder, able to do pipeline, construction and fabrication.
I want to be a pipeline welder but also a rig welder when I don’t have pipeline work
