Yes. I went online and found a set from the same manufacturer with the same measurements and specifications but with bearings. I believe I got lucky. The nylon stuff is just their cheaper way of making it easier to produce but there is no replacement for real bearings. The sizing might also be industry “standard”. In the past I have replaced these before for the same reasons. Better sliding pocket door. Quieter and smoother. Now I incorporate the easy soft close and soft open like we have in our kitchens.
Will the soft close HOLD the door closed? I have a door track that is out of level and these new roller bearings cause the door to self open. We have no locking latch. Will this 1060 hold the door closed?
Yes it will. Another option is to use magnets. This was to stop a cat from opening the door. So I installed these magnets into the door frame flush then painted them to hide everything in the frame. Magnets would be cheaper. No soft open or close with magnets. 🧲
@@803Garage ok. What I’m finding is this. The 1500 series pocket door kit is $85-95 The soft close kit for one side is kit number 1060 $45-55. It basically replaces one latch/wheel kit. You need two for each side to make it soft close AND soft open. For the kit with two for soft open and close (not sure if you you can do the soft open without removing trim and door.) The kit 1062 is $85-90. The whole frame 1500 series with soft close and open is $150. Better deal as a complete kit. There is a soft closing tab different brand that just goes into the end of the door too.
Great review. Thank you for taking the time to do it. Can you elaborate how you upgraded the wheels from nylon to bearings? Thank you.

Awesome
Thank you =] 💜
Johnson pocket door framing kit is only $85. Not too expensive and way easier to transport and higher quality.
Does it come with the soft close for both sides? Asking seriously. =] I’m also in Canada 🇨🇦 so it’s expensive here. 🤦

Useful tips, but your video is badly overexposed; it needs some post-production processing. Maybe your camera is broken, old, defective?
I used an old iPhone 📱 but yes I 100% agree with you. =]
