I would say running good wires, good power supply, and Big 3 is just as important to the box build that can always be improved over time. I ran the same system on a 4ga wire and ground and switched to 2/0 and noticed a very big difference. But yeah making sure you have the correct volume for sub to perform correctly with the box.

Back in the day, the Super Pro Super Blue's were cheap and hit hard. I'm still a buyer of mid-level subs.... not the cheapest, but not the best. And I'm always happy with it.

It’s been this way since the early 90s. I laugh when I see people bad mouthing a brand not knowing the amp they are praising has the same circuit board in it but cost 3-4 times as much. But you are right there are actually very very few bespoke designed amps or subwoofers out there. Some of the ones out there claiming to be bespoke which are just slight changes to an existing design more for marketing purposes than for performance.
My thought has always been unless you are building a setup for competition. A low to mid budget is more then enough to beat down the block as long as it's set & tune right 💯😎👍🏾
Always look at the build house. (Example Deaf Bounce = Down4sound) for midrange speakers and tweeters. They are almost identical but the D4S ones are about 1/2 the price.
It's about preference and quality of the subs i knew a guy that had three Punch XLC in a sealed box on a Puch 1000 and the Db is unreal in 83 Buick Regal it sounded like he 6 of them.

I agree, but before I'd by one of them Golden Eagle subs over the CT or anything similar I'd want to see them both put through the same tests. 5min rms music and 40hz test tone. Just cause they look the same and have the same specs doesn't necessarily mean they gonna perform the same. Most people ain't gonna take that chance. I'd also look into the customer service at this "Golden Eagle" before I'd buy one.
While they look similar, they are 2 completely different drivers. The ddx has a larger motor, and different coil, cones and spider. But, they use the same frame. China Future Sound builds Skar, and Jinlida build for Sundown.

But, I'll probalby go with Kicker, because i reallly like the sound quality of those polypropylene cones !! It has a nice thigt kick and can still flex my car in the right box !!

Yeah I just purchased some 15 in Rockville k5 2 ohm subwoofers. Should be in in a day or two. Hopefully they won't disappoint. I like to experiment with budget price subs and amps. I built my own enclosures.

Yep from the exact same molds and factories. Say you own star and you have factory A build your speakers for years then factory B tells you they can build them better for cheaper. Obviously you move production to factory B. Factory A then sells your designs to anyone willing to order x# of woofers. It happens with everything in China wheels,shoes,speakers, ect

Just a word of advice bro i am 47 years old and been hooking up and running different types of subs since i was 16 years old ....American bass makes some good subwoofers but......i bought a xr12 dual 2 broke it in correctly.....never even gave it close to its max power even on a burst ....and it didnt last 6 months .....and burnt a coil .....now even though i know i didnt abuse it ....i contacted the company ....ask for quote on ha ing it repaired ( at my expense) and bro they wouldnt even answer my emails .......not one of them........and thats fact ....great sounding subwoofer but in my opinion i would stay away from their products....

Skar gets alot of subs from alibaba.. I remember the American Bass Phantom is a skar rp1500...it had come to a point that all these companies buy from 1 or 2 sources... when was the last time skar audio came out with a new line of amplifiers? Last I checked, they are still on version 2 in the sk line..version 1 in the RP line...they don't have a R&D department because they don't have one...almost all these subs are basically trash

Hey, guys got a question real quick. So i am not necessarily like brand new to this but my question is in regards to why My amp keeps going in to protect mode. I've checked all of my connections and they are good not sure why this is happening. I also checked my voltage for my battery. And that is also good. Can anybody give me an idea's to why this is going in to protect mode all the time? And this is new, I've had this hooked up for over a year and it barely started doing this a few days ago.?
@BassAddict91 So I figured out what it was. I took it to a shop and it was actually where your fuse is coming off of your battery. Mine was melted to it due to the amount I was pushing through it.. I had that Amp from the system I had before this one, and it was just a 10 and 500 rms, and now I am at 1200.. We good though, thanks for trying to help.
Thats kinda why i got sundown Xv3's. Ive had Skar, and they're deff a necessity to make our hobby thrive. But their products are just boring anymore. Nothing ever new. You hear someone say i got some zvx's, its just like, "oh 🤷♂️" lol.
If you only knew the insider truth. All subs are made at the same couple of factories in China. Some high end companies get the parts from China and assemble here but most all car audio subs are built in china. The Chinese aren't very loyal to there customers. If you are willing to buy enough quantity they will sell you any companies design and woofer with your name on it.
Sundown might currently order enough from factory to deter them from selling there innovations to someone eles right now but eventually they will show up with a different name on them
Yeah that's how I shopped but I bought a sundown xv2 12 cause I wanted a decent beefy well name brand sub that could hit the low lows and $450 bucks didn't seem that bad but had to save a couple months and got a Jp23v1.5.
And I agree everyone has to do their homework I've come to a crawl after JAG35 tore my mouth out on a 500$ that can't be used with a HO alternator most of these companies only care about the money and will literally tell you anything to make a sale

American bass is also CT sounds same dual or single voice coil.

American Bass, Toro,Sound Qubed and Massive are all built by Dentaly, and CT Sounds is built by a different build house.

Well first do you have the room to run a single 15. If so that’s gonna be a good starting point the 15 has more cone area. And just off top of my head I would say the skar ddx 15
Yo ! Locally I got a off brand Nexus Audio 12. 4 inch voice coils. 2 of them. 2000 rms each. I'm running DC audio 3.5 k on them. And they put out so much and they are still under powered. My whole car flexes! 😂

Just a word of advice bro i am 47 years old and been hooking up and running different types of subs since i was 16 years old ....American bass makes some good subwoofers but......i bought a xr12 dual 2 broke it in correctly.....never even gave it close to its max power even on a burst ....and it didnt last 6 months .....and burnt a coil .....now even though i know i didnt abuse it ....i contacted the company ....ask for quote on ha ing it repaired ( at my expense) and bro they wouldnt even answer my emails .......not one of them........and thats fact ....great sounding subwoofer but in my opinion i would stay away from their products....

Skar gets alot of subs from alibaba.. I remember the American Bass Phantom is a skar rp1500...it had come to a point that all these companies buy from 1 or 2 sources... when was the last time skar audio came out with a new line of amplifiers? Last I checked, they are still on version 2 in the sk line..version 1 in the RP line...they don't have a R&D department because they don't have one...almost all these subs are basically trash
You can't say the same for subs like rockville that cant play rms ratings without burning out. Not everything is made to last.
Well yeah your right but that’s when understanding the equipment you have come to play. Not all subs gonna play above rms rating. And like you say some not gonna even play at rms. So my thing is guys have to do their homework before purchasing those type subs

Hey, guys got a question real quick. So i am not necessarily like brand new to this but my question is in regards to why My amp keeps going in to protect mode. I've checked all of my connections and they are good not sure why this is happening. I also checked my voltage for my battery. And that is also good. Can anybody give me an idea's to why this is going in to protect mode all the time? And this is new, I've had this hooked up for over a year and it barely started doing this a few days ago.?
What kinda amp the ohm load could be wrong or a bad ground
@BassAddict91 I have an RP.1200.1D Skar, so it's wired down to 1 ohm!
@BassAddict91 So I figured out what it was. I took it to a shop and it was actually where your fuse is coming off of your battery. Mine was melted to it due to the amount I was pushing through it.. I had that Amp from the system I had before this one, and it was just a 10 and 500 rms, and now I am at 1200.. We good though, thanks for trying to help.
Thats kinda why i got sundown Xv3's. Ive had Skar, and they're deff a necessity to make our hobby thrive. But their products are just boring anymore. Nothing ever new. You hear someone say i got some zvx's, its just like, "oh 🤷♂️" lol.

If you only knew the insider truth. All subs are made at the same couple of factories in China. Some high end companies get the parts from China and assemble here but most all car audio subs are built in china. The Chinese aren't very loyal to there customers. If you are willing to buy enough quantity they will sell you any companies design and woofer with your name on it.
Sundown might currently order enough from factory to deter them from selling there innovations to someone eles right now but eventually they will show up with a different name on them

But the thing is.....ur cuz sub only got 750 rms...that ct got 1500 rms.....150-309 ....you not getting a quality 1500 rms sub for less than 250
The cea rating is 750 the rms rating is 1500 and the peak is 3000. On golden eagle subs same as the ct sounds
Yeah that's how I shopped but I bought a sundown xv2 12 cause I wanted a decent beefy well name brand sub that could hit the low lows and $450 bucks didn't seem that bad but had to save a couple months and got a Jp23v1.5.

any sub where if u can get custom box or box to specs of subs. and what manufacturers suggest in the manual that comes with subs
