Wish I could have been around for this documentary's filming. I've known Gabi and been a customer since '93. Gabi is the best kind of person there is, and the community that's supported her are great people as well. Gabi's remembered me after being away from the shop for years. She's held all my children when they were babies. She comforted my mom, and was genuinely heartbroken, when my dad passed away, as my dad was a longtime customer too. I live in Utah now (since 2016), and always make it a point to visit Gabi when I can get back. I let her know I'm coming, so we can see one another. Her hugs are some of the best any can give. I tell my friends here in Utah of this magical store, show them pictures of the interior, and tell them about Gabi. They all say they have to come to Olympia/Lacey just to see her and this amazing store. Hoping to make a visit this year. The Beard family loves you, Gabi.

I’ve been going to OCC for over 20 years, and even though I moved away from Olympia years ago, it’s still the place I consider my “home shop.” I was fortunate enough to bring my kids there last year during a family trip, and seeing Gabi again and telling my kids all about how welcoming OCC was to me when I was their age was a special moment indeed.
That's amazing! I love bringing my friends and family who are into gaming/comics into the shop when they come visit (or if I find out they have never been and live in town)! Hope you're doing well now!
This is outstanding. Gabi is my Olympia mom. She gave me a place to go in college when I was depressed, anxious, worried, happy, excited and just a little bit wired for sound. She listened to my heartbreak, she gave me things to do to take my mind off the world for just an hour. I may or may not have ruined the act of swearing in her shop. I invited her to my wedding. I find comics online and I buy them at her shop. I bring my family down on my holidays. We drive two hours to see her, her staff. I introduced my in-laws to her collection of board games.
There is nothing in this world I want more than success and happiness for Gabi. She gave me hope to keep going and I can't imagine the world without her love in it.

I'm not crying.... oh wait, yes I am. I have loved and will always love you and the time you spent here. Seeing your kids grow and seeing what a fantastic man you continue to turn into gives my heart so much joy.
We love Gabi! The best shop I've ever been to. Such a great community. I remember going to the smaller shop at south sound mall way back in the day.
Love to take the kids to pick out cards and build new decks. She literally opened new packs to find a card my son was looking for. 😭
She’s an amazing woman and runs an outstanding shop! I wish I had been around for the days when they were in smaller places! That would have been awesome to see!

I remember buying my first pack of Star Wars cards when I was in the 5th grade in 1997 (Mall location). She's a pillar in this community.
Oh man! I was just talking to some buddies about how I used to play Star Wars CCG back in the 90's! I REALLY miss it and actually just purchased my first MTG cards last week (still in the mail) as they were drawn by David Petersen and his art is insanely cool ...so I needed them ...especially since they were cheap! Now I'm contemplating dipping my toes into CCGs again. lol

And as someone from the UK who ultimately will have never seen nor heard of this place it was great to hear the story
