    • @Dr_Do-Little
      @Dr_Do-Little 7 лет назад +29

      They go with their market. People who pay that amount of money for something they could get same quality at 1/4 the price . They don't care about good design. All they want is flashy.

    • @roryroberts3787
      @roryroberts3787 7 лет назад +12

      DR Do-Little: There is no way they can get the same quality build for 1/4 the price. They may get the same amount of "bling", but it would be hung on plywood and with lots of staples, and falling apart in short order. There are rigs that cost less that are great builds with some of the same "bling" if that's what you are looking for. But the fact remains that these units start with a steel chasis and a steel frame. The units for the price you are talking about take a steel chasis and add an aluminum frame, much better then plywood and fiberglass less expensive units, but not the same strength, or quality... I wish I could afford one of these new, so I could have it custom built to my specs and tastes. I would enjoy it immensely, and anyone who didn't like my tastes, well, it wouldn't bother me, because I would be happy, and I would be the one who paid for it. So your opinion wouldn't matter to me.

A place to hang your hat when not at home. If one is so shallow to spend a ton of money just to look good. then a fool and his money will be easily parted.
      I have a nice little hybrid I'm restoring and I love it. It's perfect for me. It's nice and clean not a lot of bells and whistles but it works for my needs and I'm not broke. I can go out anytime I want. If I was a millionaire I would still have a used RV.

    • @roryroberts3787
      @roryroberts3787 7 лет назад +33

      Solrachigh: People everyday purchase all classes of RV's from Travel Trailers to Class A motorhomes to live and travel in. Some purchase used rigs and update them or customize them to their needs and desires. Some even sell their bricks and sticks homes and commit to living full time in their rigs and are quite happy. Others buy new rigs and do the same. Just because it is not a desire of yours to live this kind of lifestyle, doesn't make it unattractive or doable to others. I have been doing this since 2013, and have no thoughts about quitting. I have many friends and acquaintances I have met while on the road who live and travel in everything from 20' campervans to 45' class A MH's. And although none would wish you any ill will, I believe they would love to HANG an effigy of your attitude over a gator filled swamp with a rotten rope.........

      Its nice, very nice but not 2.5 million dollars nice. And yeah deciding to live in an RV full time is fine but to spend that much on it if you didn't already own a house is ludicrous. I don't honesty see myself ever buying a house for 2.5 million let alone an RV. And you can buy a really nice class A motorhome for $100,000 so your saying if you had 2.5 million you'd sink it all into this? Just this?

But I have seen ones that were $375k when new sale for $80k when their only 3yrs old. And one's that were $irk new get 2 or 3 years on them and sale for $15k. So I'm guessing at 2.5 new that your going to get $750k for it when your sell it in 3 or 4 years.
      Go by some bad as vacation property / home for a millio and in about 8yrs sell it for 3 million.

The labor and materials in the paint alone would cost you more than the average new vehicle. There's a reason why they have managed to still be standing as a leader and innovater in this specific market after 30+ years and nearly 1,300 hand built coaches. Take a tour of the facility or step inside a marathon coach and you will see why they are still selling these 2.5 million dollar coaches and catering to some of the countries biggest celebrities, musicians, nascar drivers, and successful business owner that can afford them and would obviously know high quality given by the lifestyle they most likely live .

      There is an MB assembly factory in the US, so I doubt they're shipping them anymore. But Sir you kinda missing the point, where I'm only pointing out on the crazy price tag, and the big nothing you get for it. And I know your intelligent enough to know that I'm right.

    • @roryroberts3787
      @roryroberts3787 7 лет назад

      Simon Gabor: The MB plant here in America Builds SUV's and certain MB cars. You referred to the MH based on a MB chasis, not built here in the US. That particular MH is narrower and much taller then the MH's built here. One because of the garage underneath it, and the width of many of the European roads. As I pointed out before, the cost of the Empty shell from Prevost (since they have no competition) is $750K for the H3 and slightly less for the X3. But the entire chasis and frame is built of steel not like the gas coaches built here with an aluminum frame welded to the chasis and finished with plywood covered by fiberglass. The reason for that is to keep the price point as cheap as possible. Take a tour of the plants that build bus conversions, and you will see it can take 8 mos. to build a single coach, lots of employees with skills in painting, electrical, tiling, carpentry, carpet laying, and all of the specialty tools, and facilities necessary. This is a big cog in our economy. We are looking @ the price point from a worker bee's point of view, because we would not spend that amount of money on that vehicle. I understand your point and choose to disagree with you re: price, simply because if there wasn't a market for it @ that price point, it wouldn't exist. The only way you would get one of the MH's you referred to, is to buy it in Europe and you have it shipped to the US.

While a rig like that is nice and luxurious, I would be scared to even drive that thing off the property; imagine all the wear and tear, as well as the scratches it can get just from branches! Imagine all that can go wrong in the first year that you have to fix; it would be insanely expensive to upkeep! While it's nice to look at and dream about, maybe it's not that practicable. A cheaper rig would give you basically the same trouble, but (hopefully) won't be as expensive to fix and maintain!

    What makes them worth millions of dollars? You still gotta plug into a septic. You still need to get fuel and water.

      James Drew they're could've at least been an atmospheric water generator to make it seem worthy of a million dollars.

    I can see the appeal but i would rather just buy a house, furnish it and buy a Lamborghini or two with that money. Even then it wouldn't be $2.5m

    How the heck is this 2.5 million dollars, literally just buy a mansion (not in L.A) they have multiple floors, a oven not a microwave oven. This barely gives u space, such a small R.V

    My neighbor has a 250k one and is nicer and a bigger fridge and bedroom. Pretty much the same really. I looked it up online and that was the price. New.

    After seeing this, I am really happy with my Cabin A Expedition, bought used for a lot less, 77 sq feet of interior space and towing with a Ranger. Way better use of space and a lot easier to get around in.
