It's a new experience you haven't felt at Cedar Point ever before! Climb into a two-person capsule and get launched 360 feet into the air (only second in height to the towering Top Thrill Dragster roller coaster)!
After some brief weightlessness, you'll bounce up and down until your capsule comes to rest at the launch point.
SlingShot is an additional charge attraction which opened on July 2, 2014

Several years ago, a friend of mine rode this ride here in Montana.. Seconds after the launch, the cables on one side of the seat broke, sending him and his friend flying violently to one side, while repeatedly being hit with the broken cable. Because the cable was extremely hot, (due to the 90+ degree weather), they both received several third degree burns all over their arms and their legs. They were yanked and jolted around for several minutes, which seemed like an eternity. My friend and his buddy were both rushed to the hospital by ambulance. Thankfully they both survived, but were left with serious injuries and burns.
The fact that they need to keep checking that the restraints are good would scare me more then anything lol

WOW. seeing the slingshot ride during the day is awesome but scary, I didn't know the ride goes up that high man ❣😱😁 You gotta have balls to ride that ride ... looks fun though ❣
It's funny how I would jump out of a plane that's 13,000 feet high and parachute down than go on one of these. Lmao

I went on this and easily the scariest ride I've ever been on lol😂
I went on this about a year ago and loved it, it scary when you're first shot up but after that it's amazing :)
I'm sweating like crazy just watching this, lol.
That was so scary. I would never make without crying on that ride.
I always have a fear of those protection locks getting open or lose and i fall of my seat
