E95 felt so special at the time. All those audio clips and little video clips. It's basically how I persuaded my dad to get a brand spanking new Packard Bell pc. 60mhz pentium..I got so many games bundled with it. Fallout, command and conquer, descent, under a killing moon. and quite a few others! £1800 in 1995 is £3560 in todays money!
Totally! I remember how mind blowing it was having video off a cd on a computer. Got a 486dx2 66mhz for about the same in oz dollars. It's also nuts to think how pricey things were back then! Great to get those bundled, mine had E95 and Myst I think. C&C is such a great game.
@@finished_it C&C felt absolutely razor sharp at the time. The cut scenes, the acting, the music, the gameplay. No online guides in those days just your smarts against the computer. Tech moved so fast back then my P60 was obsolete within weeks there were P100s. 3DFX cards were the next leap I think. Bought another Packard Bell pentium 2 300mhz in '98 and got Half Life and was blown away all over again. I don't think I've played a game since then and been as blown away. And the C&C games seemed to lose their way.
Encarta 95 was my first real interaction with Windows 95 around 1996 at school. this was also the first time i ever saw the "an illegal operation" error, and nearly shat myself. before this, it was all black and white Lotus 123 for spreadsheets in DOS.
😄 That's a pretty funny story. It's great that a simple piece of software lives on in peoples minds so clearly! Encarta being your first GUI experience would have felt wild. Even though I'd used Win 3.1 for awhile, Encarta 95 on Win95 still felt like a massive leap, with its "rich multimedia".
I vividly remember Encarta 95. It was truly fascinating and enthralling, my young mind was absolutely blown!
I know right, the future was then!
Mind maze..best music..simpler times..used to view my older sister playing this n played it myself many years later.. thankyou for uploading.
Everyone who played it definitely looks back on it as a special time and I agree!
So many memories… Thanks for the upload!
Thanks for the comment, glad you enjoyed it! Encarta was an underrated product!
… Core childhood memory; unlocked.
It seems like a lot of people share these memories.
Loved mind maze!!!!! and encarta in general was a wonderful experience of a CD ROM while I was coming up♥️♥️♥️♥️

Remember playing MindMaze on my 486. Good old days.
The 486 days were super memorable. Was it a DX2-66?

But it's also cool

I loved encarta and loved mind maze. I spend hours playing it. 🎉 I wish there was a new version with better graphics now.
Yeh totally agree, it was so distinct and addictive I wonder if a new version could do it justice?
I still remember the Navajo Corn Grinding song
Yeah most of that media was so memorable.
