    I received this doll for Christmas when I was little. She didn't come with shoes or a necklace. I remember the T.V. commercial with Little Miss No Name standing alone in an ally in the snow. The commercial asked little girls to give this doll a home. Little Miss No-Name was a favorite doll for little girls that Christmas season. I still have mine. She looks new. I put a penny in her outstretched hand for display. The ad: She doesn't have a pretty dress (only 2 patches). She doesn't have any shoes. She doesn't even have a home. All She has is love. On the packaging: I need someone to love me, I want to learn and play, please take me home with you, and brush my tear away.

    I only recently found out about this doll from a "creepy toys" video here on RUclips, and I have found myself fascinated by the psychology of it. The reactions people give to it are so opposite-ends-of-the-spectrum. Either people say that she is adorable and they love the doll, or people say she is right out of a horror movie. Whether Hasbro successfully pulled it off or not, I believe their intent was to create the option of having a doll that is, more than anything, sad. Moreover, the most prominent aspect of her sadness in not so much the poverty, abandonment, and physical suffering, but that she is lonely, and that (as the product itself describes) she has love to give, but that so far it has not been accepted. Unrequited love may be the most tragic aspect of the human condition, as any lonely person would attest (and as I had times in my life when I was there, I can understand), and that this just may have been masterfully expressed in this doll. Thus, I can understand the appeal of Little Miss No Name to the hearts of those who can feel for the condition of the lonely, even if the way she was delivered did not appeal to all.

    Thanks for sharing! Ooh yours looks to have the original safety pin (it was a safety pin that closed the dress in the back). No, she never wore shoes (or had a penny in her palm). She did have little panties and an olive green headband though. Regarding the tear, I would have assumed it was original. But most I've seen (including mine) have a blue tint. I have two LMNNs, one in the original dress (it also frays, pieces are coming off). Regardless, they're all so wonderful. Enjoy!

      Thank you rainyday887 😊 Interesting info about the safety pin. I thought it was just added by someone cuz it was missing its snap or button.

      I got her for Christmas in 1965, the safety pin came with her dress, she had no shoes and a green headband and white panties, but not very white. She did not have a penny in her hand and no necklace. She was just begging.

    i bought a little miss no name doll on ebay around ten yrs ago. i was v careful when purchasing mine bc a lot of the time, she comes with replacement pieces. the dress on ur doll may not b authentic. mine is authentic, and it appears to b shorter n more tattered. her dress is also pinned in the back w a smaller pin, that is rusted,, which shows it's age. her tear is also smaller, and has a blue tinge to it. the doll also didn't come w a necklace, but she is said to come w a thin headband that didn't come on mine,, and a small pair of tightywhities underneath ^^'. mine r a bit lose on her, which also shows the age n indicates to me that they r authentic

    I have bought so many and sold a few, now I have 4 and one is missing a leg. :-(. Your little miss no name looks like her tear is not original.

      Thank you Me too 😊. Very interesting about the tear. What should the original tear look like?

    • @carrasco2011sc
      @carrasco2011sc 5 лет назад +1

      @@dolldazzler I believe the original tear has a bubble inside of it something the replicas don't. Also they are bluish but some faded over time so that is not too helpful.

      Thank you Me too! 😊I appreciate the info - I would have never known about the bubble in the tear.
