After following all the instructions, it appears to work as intended though visually when no products exist in the wishlist, the background colors are a little off. I can't tell why there seems to be an empty space above where "wishlist" appears.

Hi, The Wishlist is stored in the brower's localStorage, will the Wishlist still be there for them if they close the browser and return to the store with the same browser at a later time? Assuming that they haven't cleared their cache between visits. Thanks

It only works with the default products page. I tried to create a new custom block for custom pages, but unfortunately, it did not work.
