That's because of the term ' likely to be settled '. When the firm is not going concern, one has to value all the assets at NRV and liabilities at the value which is likely to be settled. Here, 12k - 600 discount 11400 is to be settled.. Not yet settled..SO IT IS STILL PAYABLE NOT PAID Moreover one has to follow ICAI Answers even it the solution doesn't seem right until and unless ICAI comes back with a proper solution.
