Awesome tutorial - I removed pins from the ACSM plug, then followed your guide to remove 8TF and coded ACSM and Kombi - it worked perfectly, no more errors thank you for the guide!
Disconnecting the front bumper sensors is even easier - just turn wheels to left, remove some screws holding the front passenger side wheel arch liner, bend it a little so your hands reach close to 2 connectors. One little(2-pin) is the one for the optical sensor. Another one is bigger(8-pin or 12-pin depending of production time). I just cut one of two wires(white/blue or white/yellow) connectiong centre sensor and thats it.

Hi, thank you for the video. I have a Mini Cooper with the same PPS error. Using Topdon top scan tool, the fault codes I get are: ‘930CBE pressure sensor left (pressure hose system) short circuit to B+’ and ‘930CD7 pressure sensor right (pressure hose system) short circuit to B+’. Do you know which connectors I need to disconnect please? When clear the errors they come back.

Just question you did deactivate the whole air bag system from the car or just pedestrian actuators to avoid error codes . and what about if we have two more sensors the one is passenger door and driver side door. Do we should disconnect them too .? Thanks
It was deactivation of pedestrian protection only. Airbag system is intact. I haven’t seen any sensors for pedestrian protection in the doors. But there are sensors for airbag side crash detection

There is one on the driver's side of the fog light along with the parking sensor - which I have removed, then there is fibre optic sensor nearby the driver's side horn. The last one I believe is in the middle behind the number plate like yours? I'm in the UK so right hand drive here Thanks

Если не сильно наехать на любой другой объект то эффект будет тот же. Не отключив все датчики систему не удалить. Можно только восстановить. Опрос на исправность происходит при каждом включении зажигания. Если все исправно то и ошибки не будет. Видимо где-то восстановился контакт.
hello, i tried this procedure with a BMW X2 2019 - although the pedestrian sign was eliminated correctly - a "front collision warning " and "stability " errors came up on the idrive system - is there a further procedure with vehicle equipped with the KAFAS camera?
I had a job like this recently. After coding out 8TF and disconnecting all connectors, I still had an error with three cartridges. It turned out that someone put resistors in the harness. I got rid of them and voila, no errors with ACSM ;) best regards from Poland and thank You for Your job
Hi, Isn't necessary to disconnect the battery when working to this system? My first intention is to disconnect that pyrotechnical cartridge marked with the issue (to high resistance) listed on CAN - maybe there is cold contact. Thank you
@@BimDoc Thank you for your reply. In the meantime I removed gently the sensor socket without disconnecting the battery, I cleaned it but the error persists. In my case I think I broke the connection right on the bottom of the sensor when trying to remove the mess that drips from the windshield. Even if I was gently, it seems that just a small touch it was enough (my car has is from 2013 I assume the cables are no more at the same properties). Thank you.

My parking sensors don't work. Do I fix it by doing this? Do I need to replace one of the two sensors for pedestrian proteciton or do i leave them unplugged and parking sensors will work normally?

I've disconnected the all sensors and cleared the fault which seems to be fine for some time. After a few days the "Restrains Systems fault" appears and once I check that using Ista it says: Ignition circuits: Coding data does not match equipment (pin A08 - A09) Ignition circuits: Coding data does not match equipment (pin B81 - B82) I'm able to clear the faults but it appears again after a few days. What seems to be the problem?
Better tape connectors otherwise fault can show up again due to a moisture inside connectors. I had this problem before. Now iam disconnecting 12 pins from acsm and no problem anymore+better looking view under hood-no disconnected connectors

Sir, i ve the same error on my g22 after taking an impact on the bumper. However, in my case the bonnet raisers didn’t activate, i mean the bonnet is totally normal after the impact. After the inspection, we ve found that only the pedestrian protection sensor with tube is damaged, basically the tube is ripped. So, my question will be, does replacing the sensor and clearing the fault codes solve my problem?
Actually, after watching ur video in detail, it may not be the only sensor that is faulty i didn’t know bumper had that much, that’s what the body work guy told me i mean only about the sensor with tube.
If you still can see 8TF in your VO it means nothing. Important is what you have coded with current VO. To future proof yourself you can remove current option form VO and then save it into VCM

Like your videos as always, but I really disagree that "it is okay" to disable those systems. Do you think that pedestrian that is possibly going to be hit by the car cares whether the car is new or not? A reputable mechanic should always refuse from all procedures that put other road users to increased risk due to the car owner being a cheap-ass, and instead of doing the right thing, is willingly putting others at risk in order to have some marginal monetary gain. This is disgraceful.
I totally share your options about fixing the issue is always the right approach. But do you know that active pedestrian protection system is an option on BMW and not fitted on all BMW. I’m not even talking about other cheaper car brands that done even in theory have that kind options available. I believe that putting more money into proper tires and brakes will save more lives than fixing that system for 1,5k euros. Just an opinion)

On my BMW all systems are operation as they should))) The problem is if people don’t know how to disable something properly they will find another way. Like putting resistors etc to the system. So it makes even the diagnostics or airbag system functionality impossible. And the system will not work as it should in case of crash. As an extreme we can talk about EURO6 emission standard. Exhaust gases are same clean as pure oxygen (almost))), but now EURO 7 and even EURO 8 is developed. The cost of those new systems is so ridiculous that I doubt it’s is reasonable at all. To sum up: some systems are developed to earn some more money not to save someone or something. I’m not against technology. I love technology. But over engineering is also a problem. The human life is the most valuable thing that we can have. And if smth is aimed to save that, then it might be worth the money. Just putting 1k into other safety systems in the same car could be more beneficial.

There could be from 1 up to 3 sensors.

No extra procedure with kafas are needed
I guess errors will disappear by themself after a short time

Battery disconnection is not super essential

Parking sensors are not connected to pedestrian protection anyhow. Those are different systems.

@@jdhillon2179 look at wiring diagram of your car and disconnect pins directly from acsm. Its esy job, good luck

Replacing fault parts and erasing the errors will fix an issue for sure.
