    Kris I deleted my previous comment as it contained an error which could have confused a viewer. My appologies! I skipped ahead literally right before the photo results with new double tap feature on iphones and totally missed the them while looking for them lol! I just picked up this camera in same shape with great bellows at a flea market in great case. Your video taught me so much. Mine has the remote shutter button however the covering for that part is showing wear. Thanks for the great info!

    A great video. Thank you! One technical question: How do you know how many turns to advance the film? I’ve got a 2C in excellent condition and want to put a 120 roll through it but that’s the only aspect stumping me!

      Hi. I ran a sacrificial roll of film with back open and marked frame spacing for each exposure. I then wrote down how many turns it took to space the frames.

    What are the numbers 13458 on lower plate and 14266 on front plate? Not sure if they're the same on all, but after some research saw others posting about the 13458 number.

    Nice find. My first folder was a 1A and then found a mint 3A really cheap which I use as a pseudo view camera. My 1A developed pinholes shortly after purchase which I plugged with some black automotive gasket sealer. You mentioned you were going to recondition yours. How?
    What's the focal length on the 2C. I'm guessing 150mm? Anyway there's not much difference between the FOV of my 1A and 3A, 44/49mm respectively.

      On my old Rollei leather case I used mink oil to condition the leather and make it a bit more lively. I will try to do the same for 2C's case. For the bellows, however, I will try mink oil or good quality leather conditioner. The focal length on this lens is about 150 mm.

    Thank you I finally got the 2C pocket folding autographic I inherited , mine does not say junior and it is a little different than yours i.e. there are no gripping teeth to stop on the distance gear. I downloaded a pdf and with your video had a blast figuring out how this all works. This one still has an old film in it but I have opened the back. I wonder if it could be developed? If the model number is under where the film is Im afraid to make things worse looking for the model number as I am displaying it with the pics I found so trying to match the timeline. Thanks again

      You can still develop the film. Chances are the images on the outside of the spool will be washed out but there may be something on the inside of the spool close to core. What film is in there? Verichrome Pan? Spool it up .

    I have exactly the Kodak 2c here. Looks exactly same as yours. What do you plan to do for the bellows?

    • @krisb8781
      @krisb8781  Год назад +1

      Hi, fortunately there are replacement bellows you can get. If it's just a small leak, you can use some fabric or silicone to cover it up. It will not look pretty, but it will work.

      @@krisb8781 .. I think for now the MacGuyver solution might be good enough just to goof around with the camera. If I find myself getting interested in Kodak 2C photography and end up using it regularly, I think I'd go for a replacement late, I was googling but didn't see an obvious link for bellows for this camera.

    Just so I know. You used a 120 spool. And extended it to a 130? I just recently purchased one. And I only have one spool that came with the camera itself.

    • @krisb8781
      @krisb8781  3 года назад +1

      That is correct. You can purchase 130 adapter on ebay if you want.

      @@krisb8781 in your video you mentioned you removed the mask. If you can recall, why was the original size of it? And what size did you modify it too.

      @@pch415 hi. I removed a mask i put in there. It was simple construction paper mask to allow narrower 120 film slide on it, while also preventing exposure on the whole frame and having edge markings in the final photo. I can record a minute clip for you to see what i mean.

    Have you ever tried 70mm film, rolling your own? There is info on the web and 3 youtube.

      I thought of doing that, but never got around to do it. Hope one of these days. Thank you for commenting.
