Truly, one of the most underrated groups in all of southern gospel music. Not 'hip' enough for the super-cool Gaither crowd, would certainly demonstrate how little they cared about being 'entertainers', and how committed they were to an actual ministry.
Never will there ever be a better GOD loving group. I have listened to them since I was young, I am 54 now and still think they are so anointed! I love you guys, please never stop!
Their testimony was as true as the songs they sang. My boys listened to them when 8 & 9 and still listen to their music today... It was the Inspirations that inspired my boys to sing... They got to meet them in Sumter SC at a singing there and it was their example that encouraged my son's to live for and serve the Lord. Thank you Inspirations alllll of you!!!
Chris Smith’s time as the I’s baritone is extremely underrated. Though the Archie-Troy-Mike-Eddie quartet from the 70’s will always be peak Inspirations, it’s arguable that Archie, Mike and Troy are at their vocal prime in a 82-92ish period. It would have been awesome to see Eddie in his peak with them then.
Yeah they heave had so many member changes since Archie retired and then mike holcomb. In my opinuon, the Inspirations doesn't even sound like the Inspirations anymore. An Era in southern gospel has ended if you ask me.
It seems like every Southern Gospel group experiences changes. It is inevitable. It is particularly difficult I would imagine for family groups who embrace the close harmonies. Having a wonderful singing voice is not the only requisite for these groups, but also manifesting a godly character. Moreover, I believe the Christian listener would demand substantive lyrics for any new songs that are introduced.
Talking about membership change, i thing they have changed more members in the last few years now than ever. Every time i hear them, they have someone new.
+herecalico it's not even the same group anymore. The inspirations don't even sound the same anymore. that chapter of southern gospel is closed sadly, but I enjoy smokey mountain reunion now!

Agree. Thank God they stuck with the real gospel and sang it, lived it, and preached it.
Amen. So, so true.
When these guys give their concert in heaven, please assign me a front row seat!!!!!!!!
I want to meet and greet them. Archie and that awesome bass guy!!!!!

who's ia singing baritone next to troy burns? is this a fill in cause its not Eddie Dietz for sure
It's Chris Smith, he was with the group for a little while. He then went solo as the "One Man Quartet" where he sang all four parts. Very talented.
Oh that's right. I remember him now that you say that. Yes very talented man. Thanks for the info!

Logan Morris you don't know who will be with the group each time you see them.
Do your best to get there first.
I will do my best.
