- Little Nightmares 1 turned out to be FAR bigger than just a 'spooky puzzle game', and what a delightful surprise that was. After playing through LN1 and the CRAZY GOOD DLC that went with it, I'm finally getting to dive into Little Nightmares 2. Will we be playing as Six again? Are we exploring new areas of The Maw? What kind of twisted creatures are we going to encounter? Boy oh boy, I don't know - but I can NOT wait to find out.
I really hope you have an awesome time, and if you do, it would be amazing if you'd consider subscribing.
Thanks,
Benjamight
the real intro to Six in this game is one of my fvrt moments! only Little nightmares can do something like this!
23:20 You really had to use brain for this one!
Yeah, that vent section with the teacher absolutely left me dazed with fear. It’s not any better to watch someone else go through it either….lol
14:15 That right there is actually the body of the Lunch Lady. She was supposed to have her own monster section but they felt it was too similar to the chef section from the first game so scrapped her section but kept her dead body there as an easter egg. Yep the kid you were traveling with was Six all along and we see here how she gets her signature raincoat. Same with you I saw the cover art of this game on Steam and saw Mono and Six next to each other so I thought she would be a big part of the game but when she was nowhere to be seen after a bit I started to wonder if the kid we were with was Six and while I sill love the reveal especially the music cue the reveal would have hit harder not having seen the coverart of the game. I still don't understand why they would market Six as being your companion when its a reveal in the game that she is the kid you were with all along. I just don't get it and think it's dumb. Within the game however i think its a fantastic moment and reveal and can't to see what it means for the rest of the game.
Funnily enough there is a character in this franchise that also sports a yellow raincoat that isnt six but that's nothing to do with this game lol. Also Mono is not the Runaway Kid, and we are in the Pale City not the Maw. Can't wait for next ep where you will encounter personally the scariest horror game section Ive ever experience. Its so good imo lol
OMG - that's the lunch lady? That was a super cool fact to learn, thank you Palintir. I also agree, I think if they left Six off the coverart, the reveal would have been so much sweeter. Oh well, Six sells games I guess. ;-)
The person you found in the freezer was The Lunch Lady , another character who was suppossed to be in the game but didn't make the cut . Looks like the children killed her .
In LN1 we had to distract The Janitor with a TV . One of the channels is of a woman singing and it's called "Veronica's song" . The kids playing jump rope are singing the same song . It's such an obscure callback I don't know how people even got it .
In the original , everytime we kill a monster it was done in a very fitting way ( for example we cut The Janitors arms ) . I even saw some people predict we are going to shoot the hunter way before the game was even out . So I definitely expected to somehow decapitate The Teacher after the neck thing was revealed . She is the only one in this game who got off scott free .
Six got that iconic raincoat . Wonder why tha achievement was called true colors .
Oh man... you're right... the Teacher got to live. Another 'ending' for her that would have been epic (and fitting) is if she couldn't pull her head back through the vent we dropped out. How nuts would that have been if she was there just ramming her head at the vent trying to pull it back through, but she couldn't!
19:10 told you! a lot of variety of hats in this game.
Man I remember that vent chase being a lot longer lol
The timings in LN2 are very unforgiving.
At the scene at 40:00 "I wonder if this hammer here was a setup", yes, but it's a bait-and-switch. You're led to believe you have to grab it and smash the bully, however unexpectedly Six gets to it before you and kills (kill?) the bully bare-handed.
revenge..?
Oh wow, that would have been fun to see her do that.
36:59 in the first game, there's an achievement for doing the same thing. Achievement is called Six's Song: So many keys, yet none to unlock your cage!
I don't remember if I picked it up or not in the first one?
The porcelain kids are really peculiar as an addition to the entire school area. We never really see any kid other than our protagonists during the game (with maybe the exception of the dead child you get the yellow hat from back in the woods). It's fascinating to see the monsters and antagonists of the game mimic and mirror human behavior but resulting so unnerving while doing so. The Hunter with the stuffed arm, the dead eyed Teacher, they all seem fake and unfitting as people. Even where you expect some kinship, from the porcelain dolls tortured by the teacher as much as you, you only find hostility. Surroundings shape people, guess that goes for them too...and it makes the bond between Mono and Six much more humane
Agreed, they really do stand out as the only 'normal' people in the game... and they are so tiny, which adds to this feeling of being vulnerable and innocent - though we learn quickly that's not always the case. ;-)
You're definitely right! That is Six. I won't say if this is a prequel or Sequel though, I think you'll find that much out later on :D
Awesome, thanks for the confirmation Topher.
That yellow raincoat is one of the things which exist in all three of LN games. (3rd one being Very Little Nightmare Mobile). you should give that mobile game also a try on your own, it's kind of fun.
I do like how they show 'how' she got the raincoat in this one. :-)
35:35 just keep in mind what this other kid is going through!
46:50 Poor kids
I can’t wait for you to play 3, high quality, good commentary, everything is 10’s for you 👏🏾💯
Thank you Jahbvbypost, I greatly appreciate that - thank you. :-)
The prequel seems more plausible.
I don't see how Six would get captured so easily by the Hunter, considering the power she acquired at the end of the first game.
Also how she'd loose her iconic raincoat but find another identical one is a bit far-fetched.
Agreed, I actually had that same theory about her not having her powers. The raincoat was a good point too.
oh no, not the flash light........... The Horrorrr
LOVE the flashlight... it really makes the colors pop so good.
@@BenjamightGaming you say that now
Look i dont think these kids have any motive other than get the heck out of here to anywhere else that doesnt have massive monsters and traps and endless death.
Totally understandable.
I'm really enjoying your playthrough. I only recently heard of these games. I love how immersed you are in these games and how you take your time exploring the environment. I have to say that the Teacher so far is the scariest monster I've seen yet in this game. It hits all the right (or wrong) nightmarish buttons. Thank you for these amazing playthroughs. I'm really enjoying them and I have to say the games looks beautiful. A fantastic combination of art, colors and animation.
Thank you JH, I greatly appreciate this awesome feedback, it really means a lot.
I dont get it. Looks like your every day elementary school cafeteria to me. Kinda reminds me of my own childhood.
lol - I loved the kid that was having his face pushed into the food while the kid across the table was just squirting mustard all over the floor.
48:46 That right there would make a goo thumbnail, or wallpaper.
Yeah, I ALMOST went with that for my thumbnail... great minds think alike. :-)
