Keep trying. On the first day there was nothing. Second day I was allowed to review and grade, these jobs are so low paying but just do it to improve your ranking. After a week you'll be able to transcribe. Good luck. 👍
Yeah, I got in as well. In my opinion, everything here in Casting Words is pretty straightforward. If you can transcribe well, you get higher pay and etc. BUT the only problem is that when you start as beginner.. even though you're also promoted to editor, There are no available jobs to do. You only see jobs that only high-starred members can do it. It will only tell you that your star is not high enough for the job and just basically gonna sit for hours staring at an empty dashboard. Mind you, you can't even refresh the page compared to QA worlds where you can install a chrome plugin. (QA World isn't good either I tried it. Management is shit and everyone is chaotic leaving you pretty much on your own. Slack is useless).

So basically when I took the Castingwords application exam the first time, they said I didn't pass. So, I waited until the next opportunity I could take the exam and I did. Then, after awhile I received an e-mail saying, "discrepanies have been detected, account permanently closed." What did I even do wrong? I simply just took the exam again the second time, and I'm sure I did very well on it, and also made sure everything was right before I submitted my answers. Can anyone explain this to me? I'm so confused.

Hello! Yes, I never did end up doing a second video. The reason is because from what I have seen, there are very little jobs available at the moment for new transcribers. While I was able to pass the test process easily, they only have transcription files available for those who have transcribed many files on Casting Words, and not really giving the opportunity to the new transcribers. Maybe this will change once the pandemic is over.
So "Available Jobs" is where I find jobs within my ranking? There has been one in the last week. And I was busy with a different website, so I couldn't take it. I was just checking in and happened to finally see that I could accept a job.

I’ve only been with Castingwords for a couple days. On my first day, i only got one review and grade task that costs 7¢. But then i tried accessing their site on US working hours and got much more activities. On my third day i was already getting transcription jobs :) Maybe try using their website on us working hours since we are from a different country and we need to adjust to their time :) Love from the Philippines

In the first day of signing up, I saw several jobs available, but since then nothing.I wonder if it is worse because of the current pandemic.

I even emailed them and asked why I wasn't able to do any job, and their response was that there aren't many jobs right now. Maybe due to the pandemic. And that we're approaching the summer season and now the jobs become few. I don't think CastingWords would be a good help to me. Especially since I'm a beginner.

Check the style guide since every website is different and I don't have them memorized in my head. But yes, you would break up the paragraphs naturally so they're not too long. :)

Hi, Jennifer I am newly approved on this site but there's many jobs shown on All job but I toggled to Available Jobs there's none. Can I work from from the All Jobs listing?
Unfortunately, no. :( This is a very common issue. I addressed this in my latest video on transcription. It is a big problem because there is no way to work on All Jobs until you have a high enough transcriber rank. Yet, you cannot get a higher rank without doing jobs! I suggest you email castingwords and ask them if they ever get jobs available for beginners approved. I haven't seen any in a long time.
So i tried taking the exam and failed. In the email, they told me when to retake. I did it again, failed again, and it wasn't mentioned that i can retake, so i guess that's it? No more chances? :O
I think Scribie would be better than CastingWords since there are almost no jobs ever for new transcribers on this platform. Whereas, there are usually plenty of jobs available with Scribie.
Jennifer Marie agree .. i just passed the test on scribie and have started working .. since my typing is not that fast (just 50 wpm at max) scribie is the easiest for me then transcribeme or any other .. thanks a lot for your videos

Honestly, at the moment, I think applying to Casting Words is a waste of time until they get more job availability. They only seem to have regular job opportunities for their "advanced" transcriber, and in order to become an advanced transcriber, you need to do more tasks but there aren't any available. Try Rev captioning instead.
@@radonrubbish Well, it mainly requires having an excellent level of English - so while I wouldn't recommend it to most beginners, it is clear you speak excellent English, so I think you have a great shot. Other options are QA World or Scribie which are definitely for beginners.

Hello, I am new in this channel and I like it. But, it is not permitted in Egypt and if not what are the best ones for transcription for Egypt or arabic ones.

No idea what the issue would be. But Casting Words almost has no job availability at the moment for new transcriptionists, so it isn't really worth it right now. I'd recommend Scribie, TranscribeMe or Rev right now.
Unfortunately, I haven't seen any transcription jobs you can do using your phone. But if you look at my Micro Jobs playlist, all of those websites you can earn small amounts of money using your phone.
I don't know if they have any sort of detector for that or not. I would recommend doing it manually for the test and then feel free to work on Word in future for jobs.
Could you please recommend any Christian companies. I just listened to a GoTranscript, old test, which had swearing words in it (which was difficult to listen to) and I just couldn't type it

Unfortunately, there isn't anything I can do. Sometimes they release projects for all levels, but you have to keep checking each day.

This pay rate is less than Scribie. Just want to know if Scribie is the best (considering all factors) for transcription services?

They're not accepting applications at the moment. Try applying to Scribie or QA world.

Is Casting Words harsh on those outside of the US or Canada? Or does it accept people irrespective of their country?
Honestly, at the moment, I think applying to Casting Words is a waste of time until they get more job availability. They only seem to have regular job opportunities for their "advanced" transcriber, and in order to become an advanced transcriber, you need to do more tasks but there aren't any available. Try Rev captioning instead.
Is Rev Captioning beginner friendly? Or do they need very high accuracy?
@@radonrubbish Well, it mainly requires having an excellent level of English - so while I wouldn't recommend it to most beginners, it is clear you speak excellent English, so I think you have a great shot. Other options are QA World or Scribie which are definitely for beginners.

It says follow basic English rule for grammar but it has a rule that says don't change what the speaker said. I don't get it.

No idea what the issue would be. But Casting Words almost has no job availability at the moment for new transcriptionists, so it isn't really worth it right now. I'd recommend Scribie, TranscribeMe or Rev right now.

I don't know if they have any sort of detector for that or not. I would recommend doing it manually for the test and then feel free to work on Word in future for jobs.
