- On October 14, thousands of youths from various interim tribal bodies in Dimapur gathered at Aoymiti ground to hear the outcomes of a crucial meeting held at the Chumoukedima Police Complex. The meeting, attended by the Ceasefire Supervisory Board Chairman, addressed the abduction case from October 10. Following the gathering, tensions flared as the public expressed dissatisfaction with the meeting's conclusions, prompting police to intervene and restore order.

People blaming sumis for these kind of extortion and sumis are not happy for calling out their tribe. I agree why many sumis are not happy for calling out their tribe and not as a UG group. But here’s the thing, most, I’m not saying everyone but most of the UG extortionists are Sumis and they’re known for this and this is a fact. What I wanna say to intellectual and knowledgeable Sumis is that, you know that it’s wrong and not right when your tribesmen are being involved in these type of activities but why do you turn a blind eye to these acts just because they’re Sumis, you must change your people or else the whole of Nagaland will continue to label Sumis in general as extortionists which you really don’t wanna hear .
