Honestly bro I wouldn’t even go that fare to say that LA is wild they broke into Lebron cribs before so I wouldn’t put anything past me lol
Almost like it's the culture but NBA players more worried about keeping BLM on the courts and kicking fans out than they are their own communities. "As long as I got mine" mentality at its finest.

Baron Davis I met you and Paul Pierce , you guys came to my house when I was a little kid. You guys came to renovate a park around the corner from my home in Los Angeles by the USC area. Richardson family park.
Both of them are sellloutts
Nice
I went back to my old hood 20 years later and I pulled up at my cousin's house. It was like 30 ninjas outside and they all swarmed my car. I didn't recognize one friendly face and was
like OH SHYT!!!😮... Then my cousin yelled from the distance, EH, THAT El Duke!!! Dudes started whispering amongst themselves and one cat stepped up to my window and was like Yo El, sup cuh!!!! I remember the dude as a little kid when I left the hood, then i realized they all were little kids i knew but had grown up to adults.! Beards and shyt threw my memory off!!! Quik was the first popular blood rapper. C’mon guys.
The very 1st!!
Game was famous worldwide … DJ quick only popular in the west ..
@@fredopounds716 It’s “Quik.” You obviously don’t know much about his legacy or reputation-you can’t even spell his name. He dropped 15 years before Game, and every true fan of Hip Hop knew who he was. Ask Tim Dog.
@@mindbully💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
@@fredopounds716mf said dj quik ain’t worldwide. that’s hilarious
The reality of that is these dudes were moving in the same vicinities as these street dudes attempting to keep it real. That is fool's gold. You can't move like that in no era.
That's not true. He just said they ran down on Jalen Rose on Sunset blvd. Ain't no street niggas on Sunset. Kodak got shot in West Hollywood. Like c'monnn!
you tellin me baron was in the hood....the club probably..
I don't think its to keep it real, the NBA's true fan base is in the streets, thats where the love is, "from the people" example back in the day the NBA was trying to push John Stockton and Karl Malone down peoples throats but every kid in that era had a Allen Iverson poster in their room, Kobe never connected with the street level fanbase thats why his gear never sold nearly as much as Jordans, if you connect to the streets its proven you will make far more money in the long run than if you're a generic corporate player like a Dwayne wade who's won two championships and will be a HOFer but couldn't sell merch to save his life, he didn't connect with the people.
Keeping it real can get you killed!
They will break in your home. Look up Clarence avant
That Jalen Rose story is crazy. His boy caught a bullet in the head.
Dom Kennedy is the rap version of Baron Davis lol
😂😂
Baron Rap too. Bart Oatmeal
What on earth is wrong with people. Envy is so evil. You would think a basketball player of all people could be welcomed anywhere in the hood without having to be dragged into that life to associate with the people. No wonder so many leave and never look back.
true but u gtta ask who he be with. i know Bd used to kick it with Dom Kennedy. I dont find Dom to be a trouble maker at all but way he talks it all about partying and the ladies with Dom. You get in that kind of environment, sometimes you might run into a problem or two with niggas who dont like you. But Bless all my guys, and pray it nvr happens again
Because ninjas feel they gotta take what they want, but why rob a good guy who's also one of your own?
@@mikethomas4368 Most people commit crimes against people that look like them. It's sad because white people come to LA and other places with no issues.
@@mikethomas4368black people don’t stick together which is why we are at the bottom of society. Also being a “good guy” makes you a target to black people. They see that as weakness.
Nah NBA players gotta walk around like rappers with all their shines on when the rappers from LA say we don’t even wear jewlery because how it is out here. You see Snoop Dogg, Suge Knight, or YG walking around with exuberant jewelry on

Great doc by the way. "Crips and Bloods". Made in America. Best history lesson that all should Know!
Don't EVER forget DJ Quik!!!
The reason they dont mention quik like that besides forgetting,is quik and cypress hill werent promoting the gang they claim
It was messed up before basketball before rap , then when the basketball players and rappers got money it blew up
Ever notice how NBA players will align themselves with rappers? Baron said "NBA players, rappers..." That's the problem. It has nothing to do with color. If you portray yourself as having money or affiliating yourself with gang culture, you will be targeted. And he was hanging out with The Game.
You ever notice how you’re a small minded peon? You can’t portray having money now? That’s only something a clown says when speaking about black folks. Oh and wait it’s also not ok to be friends with rappers bc that makes you a gang member by default lmao you got no idea how anything works. If anything knowing people and having connections helps, he said it himself
That’s true. I’m sure Tim Duncan had nothin to worry about
You may or may not be from LA, but Baron is well known in the city and is connected with the Swans. Baron is good in LA, he's from there, understands the politics and has ties. He might be the wrong person to make this example about. BD is certified
You would think a rapper or basketball player would be able to come to the neighborhood and hang freely with both sides. It's disheartening to think gangs cannot just see the rapper/baller as someone that made it and can be celebrated with no fighting when they come to town regardless who they kick it with. This explains why people choose to leave and never look back with the label as sellout Uncle Tom
@@saintchristian9129Tim played in SA not LA dummy

It's not about being associated with rappers. It's more about people knowing you have money and being in places where you're a target. If people were getting rob on sunset why do you think your famous millionaire tushy is safe. We gotta stop blaming the culture for people trying to be in the culture.
Naw bro , we need to stop making excuses, we the only ones doing this to eachother, come on now
We all know Brad Pitt, Dicaprio, Tom Cruise etc., have money! When was the last time you seen a gang try to extort them while they shopping in LA on Sunset?
Sunset is not a bad area. The whole strip goes thru Hollywood. Some crackheads but nothing crazy. Celebrities out there all the time.
Finally people giving the game props. The west coast was in drought from many years. The game came along and put the WEST on his back and carried a whole Coast on his back for years! 💯💯💯💯✊🏿✊🏿

How did he do that ? By making gangster music ?
@@westside8514prob talking about like 99-04/05. Post Pac era pretty much. I lived between LA, ATL and NY during my youth and there was way more regional distinction back then. Like people in Atlanta weren't even bumping 2001 all that much. It was so long ago but the artists topping the rap charts during that time period were damn near all NY and some southern. 50 cent exploded for the NY and ATL was all lil Jon. Snoop did tracks w Pharrell that went up super hard and then the Game. But that damn whole decade top hits belonged to NY (mostly 50) and the South. Shit, even into the 10s. Of course Kanye sprinkled in all that somewhere. Trust me bro, I love LA the most and is why I chose to stay here but it was easy to get stuck in regional mindset especially in those pre influencer times. Shit, I remember I was living in the bay in the middle of the hyphy era and would visit my LA homies and put em on to Mac Dre, mistah fab and all the bay shit before it went big everywhere. We used to live in bubbles bro. But 1000% LA got the shit on lock. The influence LA has on this social media/music/entertainment shit is unmatched anywhere in the world. There's NO mistaking it now. The world is the bubble.

Dang, how did B. Davis leave out Quik? He was the first b-dawg truly bangin' on wax and movin' around the country doin' shows and squabblin'! Barron may be a lil too young to remember that...he's a late 70's baby...I'mma early 70's baby. But if you were in LA Unified high school when Quik's underground tape first dropped like I was in 1990 (the perm rockin', LA Kings trench coat wearin' Quik) you heard all the stories.
