@@aeonsleo2 Very good question! If you want to play blindfold chess like legendary chess players like Paul Morphy, Philidor, Vladimir Kramnik or Viswanathan Anand, then it it a must to remember the colour of the squares of the board.
I was going to ask the purpose of memorizing all the squares but then I restarted the video and the answer was there - it is to be able to play blindfold chess. Who wants to play blindfold chess? I guess it's a great mental strengthening practice but it seems like it would be more productive to learn strategies. Maybe blindfold chess does help in improving strategies, though.
@@YouMeAndChess It was a few seconds after that when you are talking about even files. Mistake is right at 8:17 . You say "the b file, the d file, the e file." You meant to say "the f file" not "the e file."
Thanks so much, i've playing for a long time and never could remember the color of squares until now! Keep doing these videos please!
I'm soo glad you found my video helpful. Keep learning and keep practicing!
@@YouMeAndChess Why do we need to remember the color of the squares?

Do you have an another RUclips channel Called Bano Chess right?
I think you meant the "f file", not the "e file. (8:17)
No I meant the "e" file, I was talking about the odd number files and "e file" is 5th file.
haha. No, you accidentally said it wrong. You said the E file. You meant to say the F file. Check (8:17)@@YouMeAndChess
