Against guile I feel like I’m playing ST, and I have to make the hardest read just to get in, the matchup definitely favors guile, and god forbid you press on od wake up flash kick
Its because Ryu can’t throw fbs at the same rate as Guile. Its always been this way. You think by now Ryu would be able to generate fbs that fast by now.
As a guile main! I can tell you this is an even mu ,it really depends on your approach.Ryu does more damage and has better frame trying situations then guile does .and also a tsu with the right read goes through projectiles. Most of what I seen in this video is just human era! Had nothing to do with the mu.
It’s definitely in Guile’s favor, there’s no question about that. Even if slightly (which I don’t think is the case). It’s very hard to get in, his fireballs are so strong it’s tough for Ryu to keep up. That’s especially the case for his blade. If he’s in burnout it’s very difficult to stun him and the list goes on. Using raw tatsu is not an option, at high level you don’t take risks like that. There are plenty of even matchups, but this one is not one of them for Ryu.
@@Beamthegamer it’s a fighting game if you don’t take risk some times don’t expect rewards.im currently at 1,700 mr just started back playing .Before the reset I was at 1,900,so I have payed some very high level ryu’s..His tsu is there for a reason !yes it’s risky but guy switches between boom speeds at certain distances to trap you from jumping .It’s really about the reads!and I get it in a ft2 setting it’s hard to gather his boom timing .When I play other characters against guile or the mirror! I know when to jump because I gauge his movement where he loses charge. You have to take the jump at some point because once you get in it’s your turn and maybe a corner carry.DI works best on guile and Honda because they are charge characters that don’t rely on lights to pressure. Most of guile good pokes can be DI…But you’re a pro and probably know all of this .Im gonna pick ryu up next week and see how hard this fight is.
Guile is pretty ridiculous generally he got to get some nurfs like a couple of other characters as well or they got to make the others more capable of dealing with this crap
Guile is one of the cheapest characters in every sf game. What’s skillful about a zoner who just learned to spam? Most guile players have no skill. They just spam.
Those are the easy ones to beat though.Where Guile is ridiculous is in the hands of players that will zone, but can also do neutral and combo the heck outta you.
This MU slightly favours Guile. Ryu gives Guile big trouble once he's mid range or closer. Definitely not impossible MU. You Ryu mains just need to play more patient
Can you elaborate how Ryu gives Guile trouble in mid range? I played this MU a lot and I feel Ryu definitely loses in mid range, because Guile's poke is longer
@@cornlourd even the hardest matchups in this game are at peak a 6-4 which falls into slightly definition. Also Juri has way more trouble with Guile than Ryu and even her is not a IMPOSSIBLE MU
@@CineGoodogyeah the issue with that 6-4 thing is player skill or matchup knowledge can also be 6-4 in favor of the 6 character 😂. You’re toast. That converts it into a 8-2 matchup more or less. A mathematician can do better but I know I’m close.
@@CineGoodogIt's a exaggerated title, you're trying to be too smart. The matchup ratio is skewed either way since we also take player skill level into an account which means that 6-4 can easily be 8-2 or 7-3 and so on. I'm starting to get tired of y'all stupidity and bias. Ryu can do good against Guile in a perfect scenario, unfortunately that "perfect" scenario doesn't just happen every match.
Very difficult opponent must have been stressed but it's fantastic for those watching the game 👏👍
8:06 that ryu charge up during the K.O slow motion was epic
For real, that looked sick!
Guile: PERFECT
Ryu: Oh, perfect.
Definitely my worse matchup. Looks like a lot of patience is key.
unfortunately, that is so true😢
Against guile I feel like I’m playing ST, and I have to make the hardest read just to get in, the matchup definitely favors guile, and god forbid you press on od wake up flash kick
Why is this MU always so stressful? 😅
Because Guile is such a broken character
The stress is real
Its because Ryu can’t throw fbs at the same rate as Guile. Its always been this way. You think by now Ryu would be able to generate fbs that fast by now.
He should not be allowed to
I love watching Guile getting his ass kicked, this character is pure shit

He isn't that ridiculous. He's just very solid, consistent, and stable where other characters aren't.
