I agree with you about White for a wedding guest not being a good choice.
The color-blocking advice was very useful, and explained in a very logical way that's easy to remember!
Hi Valerie! I'm so glad you found the colour blocking advice useful! 😃
Love your hat!
Hi Karen! Thank you so much! 😊❤️👒
Watching your videos of gloriously beautiful hats - with coffee in hand & adorable dog by my side - is a perfect way to start my Sunday morning!
Your Sunday mornings soung glorious! ☕🐕👒
Absolutely love the hat you are wearing.
Agree with white being for the bride. However, I saw a light gray on her outfit, not white. My bridal "costume" was ivory velvet and French lace, so anyone choosing beige would match me. Luckily , it was a winter wedding, so no one chose light colors. BTW, in BR, black is largely acceptable as a color for weddings or any occasion.
I really enjoyed your discussion. By the way, you look lovely…makeup, hair, the colour purple and, of course, your very stylish hat!
Twice in my life, I've attended a wedding wearing a predominantly white or ivory outfit because it was the best I had available. Afterwards when I saw the photos from the event, I regretted what I was wearing because it detracted from the bride bring the focal point in the pictures. I'm attending a wedding this weekend, and I'm making a big effort to complete a bright, spring-coloured outfit so that the bride is highlighted as she deserves. It's a matter of respect.
Hello! Have a wonderful time at the wedding! I hope you've got a suitably spring-y hat to match your outfit! 👒👗💐
Love that Whole outfit. That purple is stunning
My best friends son married a few years ago and his bride wanted all of her bridal party to wear white. The bridesmaids, mother of the bride and mother of the groom and grandmothers all wore white.
I really liked Eugenie's dress and tiara
I loved Sarah's hat, it was very original and unique but not outrageous it didn't look like a stereotypical Mother of the Bride hat but it was Very Sarah, and reminded me of the broad brim boater styles that where popular at royal events when Sarah was younger and still in the family proper. I also just love a broad brim hat with large bows for decoration and I long for one I could where in church that wasn't so big as to obscure the vision of other parishioners, which is a balance that this Hat seams to have managed well.
Hi Ilona, first may I say you’re looking very lovely today. Beautiful makeup, beautiful hat. Very suitable for an upscale autumnal wedding . I do not agree with wearing white - nor black - at weddings. It’s rude. Her Majesty looked lovely as usual. Nice to see so many guests looking lovely. It’s a compliment to both the bride and groom , and their families. Take care 🙏🙏👵🇦🇺
It would be good if the photos were larger so we could get a better look 😊
Season 2 of The Gilded Age aired this past Sunday, and the very first scene is a bunch of hatboxes being opened, and all of the characters putting them on. I know you don't analyze historical fashion, but the hats are SO fabulous, and designed to not only match the costumes, but also to tell us how the characters are feeling. Would love your take on it!
Nice cover of the hats. I think Beatrice looked the best she had ever done up until this stage. I was taken aback at how sophisticated and classically stylish she was on the day, and of course she was wearing my personal favorite, a headband. Tall and informal looking, but structured showing her personal confidence. With white at a wedding, I feel depends on the style and tone of white. Ayda Fields suit was very off white, almost looking a little grey, but it depends on the style of suit and hat wear. If it was a dress, that would be rather more inappropriate than the sharp silhouette suit and fashion matching hat. The ice blue suit made warm with the light brown, almost gave HM a Christmas look, it was very pretty and she was clearly happier than at the wedding a few months earlier. Sarahs hat did, as you say, very much stand out - I was taken aback at how sharp its lines were, and took a bit of getting used to, but it still looked good when photographed as a group.
I didn't realize that Demi Moore was a guest at the wedding of Eugènie and Jack Brooksbank. Love her dress and fascinator!
Sarahs hat has wings!
I liked your hat best, Ilona! Much more fun and sassy.
Princess beatrices dress appears to be a midnight blue colour
love your hat!!

Oh hands down Queen Katie. DUUUHH
I agree. No one should wear white but the bride.
IMO, it's fine to be old-fashioned about this.
Weddings are firmly wreathed in tradition and meaning. To wear black or white -- deliberately thumbing your nose at those traditions and meanings -- is childish attention-seeking by those who aren't content to celebrate another's event but, instead, feel the need to be noticed.
I liked Chelsea Davy's look. Festive, attractive, and individual, but not drawing undue attention to herself away from the bride. :)
So enjoy your videos.
Thank you.
6:34 Eu tentei, mas não consegui gostar do chapéu da dona Sarah.
There was something about Susanna Warren’s dress that I did not like. The hat on its own was lovely but I just didn’t like it paired with the dress. I also do not think white is proper at a wedding.
If I was the bride, I would not care if anyone wore white unless they were wearing a wedding gown with a veil and train
Brava!
Not keen on Cara look!
I love your hat. I didn't like any of the wedding guests' outfits and thought that they were boring. What happened to full skirts ? I also saw pale grey and not white on that particular wedding guest .
Princess Catherine as always. ❤ I hear she has switched to pantsuits. Is that a fall trend or a new fashion statement?
4:25 discus hat at almost 90 degree angle drives me nuts! Why not have two, one on each side of your head like Princess Leia hairbuns, if it's purely decoration and not able to keep sun or rain off you like a regular hat? All in all, most of these outfits look like very expensive mistakes.
Hi Callie, those vertical hats certainly are a bold fashion choice! 😀 It's worth noting, that none of these occaision hats are ment to be functional in a traditional sense of keeping the sun out. Each hat is designed to express the personality of the wearer.
Yes, I know, but when it's so vertical that they put decorations on both sides of it, it really looks like wearing a tabletop centerpiece! 😂
@@CallieMasters5000 it's funny you should say it's not keeping sun off, because in the photo Ilona used, the hat is very clearly blocking the sun coming from the side & casting a shadow over Susanna's eyes. Seems to be pretty functional to me!
I have to agree that the hats sitting vertically on the head with flowers on the “top” and “bottom” look like they got caught in the wind and stayed upright. I guess if that’s your personality…
Where have you gone?
Hello! I'm still around, but I've had to take it easy the past couple of months for health reasons. I'm hoping to get back to posting videos soon!
Wearing white to a wedding is always a faux pas without explicit permission from the bride. I cannot imagine what would compel someone to wear white to a Royal wedding of all things. I'm so sure that would've been against the dress guidelines. Maybe she felt it was fine since it was "technically" ivory?
Remember to Thumbs Up 👆
Hi, Thank you for the video. Here is one for the Mighty Algorithm. Yours, Ann
No white at weddings. I think it's an insult to the bride.
Not old fashioned! Wedding guests should never wear white or ivory.
I agree. It is Absolutely inappropriate to wear white to a wedding unless you are the bride. I also do not like to see black, which is more suited to a funeral.
