@@onemat2000 im sure i will all in good time. Seller is a major tool bag, not something i say often. And yes they are! I dont really have too many stereo 8 tracks as i have most of what i want on CD. Im well over 100 Q8 tapes in. Not bad providing i got back into Quad last november.
@@musicman257 its annoying isnt it? I think something else is up. Im not going to contact them anymore. I have never left someone negative feedback before but i may on this one. Im still trying to see if i can restrain myself from having the last word. That would get their attention tho.
Hello I just happened upon your blog. I’m a Norman labs nut also. I have an original set of model 10s. Just wondering if you ever seen the complete lineup of Norman’s. The nines you have seem to be missing the smoked glass. Anyhow their biggest set were the ones with 10 woofers and tweeters.
@@dnscud1 nice to hear from you another Norman Lab guy! Yepp the glass tops missing on mine, i am having a very hard time finding a second matching set of these. I did not see their entire line up, but the 9 seem to be the biggest, and probably the rarest i assume, as most the ones i find are slightly different.
@@rockrollhi-figuy6824 I bought my in 1978 at an audio store just outside of temple tx I was stationed at ft hood at the time. As an e 4 I couldn’t afford the 9s. But the big ones I saw were about 3500 at the time. I wish I could remember the model number but I can tell you that they wouldn’t fit in the space where your whole system is.
Dude you are talking about me! I was googling around trying to see if these speakers have these problems, and found this and felt bad man. Because of surround rot, I have never listened to these speakers. I said there might be voice coil rub, but I didn't expect to see an entirely blown protection circuit and dead tweeters galore. I was struggling to get them under the Fedex oversized bullshit fees, so took woofers out. The crossover - if you can call it that - is a cap, and inductor, and multiple protection circuits that had blown. One tweeter worked. You wanna replace 5 vintage Phillips tweeters? You paid 400 for the speakers, 400 for shipping, and I refunded all of that a week ago. Please check to make sure you got a full refund. If I was a garbage seller, I just would have shipped them off, and you would have been disappointed, and then I would have to issue a refund anyway. You paid in good faith, and I refunded you in good faith. I have shipped larger and heavier things, but they were "as described". I lost 88 dollars on this cancelled sale in fees. I will admit to never checking my Ebay account, I sell like one thing every 6 months. I will give you that. You will not see these for sale again. Ever. I can part it out, but I got two cabinets, broken but intact grills, a working tweeter, and woofers that may or may not have voice coil rub. I'm in New Mexico, you are in PA, so if you want to drive or fly down here, or arrange freight, you can have them for free. Also, you want the 10 day interest on the 800? I mean I've done all I can. Not shipping destroyed speakers across the country dude.
Also, if I ship them, and they are not as described, and I have to refund you, it would cost me 1400 bucks. I'd eat the shipping. Out of pocket. Wish I had never listed them. Again, sorry that I was unable to deliver on our contract. I get that it sucks, but I just want to make sure you get every single dollar back, so please make sure you got the refund. I paid fees, you don't. You will find another pair, hopefully in the tri-state area. I should have closely inspected them before listing, my bad.
@@tranzco1173 all good man, i seriously thought you sold them to someone else maybe i over reacted. Im actually thinking about selling my set and taking the easy way out and getting 4 jbl l100’s and being done with it. I didnt see if the refund went thru or not but im sure it did. I was pissed off at the time because i truly thought there was something else going on, but it looks like im the one in the wrong here. So my apologies for that. Im not worried about the 10 day interest, no big deal. I am going to toss this out as a misunderstanding. I dont fault you for not expecting them, i really planned on rebuilding them anyway. The tweeters is the biggest problem honestly, theyre a pain to find parts for. Thanks anyway and my apologies for jumping to conclusions, and being a little harsh. I may find another set but the odds of it being the right series of model 9’s with the right cabinets, grilles, tweeters and woofers combination is slim to none, so im seriously considering selling mine and going with 4 jbl l100’s. Theyre common, sound good, and easy to find parts for.
And yet again it came from the internet time to just buy a decent RCA bedroom set and be done with it LOL those are virtually indestructible. If you get a multiple CD changer make sure it has shuffle.
Are you sure you want to pay that much for shipping and handling? Bro? As far as I'm concerned that would have been the metal gear alert. I'm dead serious RCA bedroom detachable speakers boomboxes are virtually indestructible I've seen people leave them out in the elements and they still run those things die happy when they're good and ready. Just a suggestion though.
Hope you get it resolved or find another pair of them. Are those Quad 8-tracks?
