The control, timing, balance combined with harnessed brute strength is the complete package.

At the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris - Camryn Rogers (25) & Ethan Katzberg (22) both from Canada won gold in the Men's & Women's Hammer Throw. Katzberg started the event off with a bang! Crushing the throw at an outstanding 84.12 metres. It stood up as the top throw of the Tournament. He is the defending 2023 World Champion and also, had the largest throw of the season with a 84.38 metres at a different Games. Rogers fired a missile at a distance of 76.97 metres which was the top measurement for the Women. This man, Youri Sedykh, back in the 1980's was throwing the hammer like it was a tennis ball at 86+ metres. WOW! If he was still competing and throwing long distances in his prime, he would have captured the gold medal.

The all-time master of the most difficult throwing event. To hear his commentary helps me better understand his incomprehensible performances.
