    Lateral entry is good in theory but fraught with loopholes that open doors to nepotism and corruption. I have lost faith in politicians to make the best choice for the country other than their party survival.

    I think, some specialist person should give opportunity to serve GOI

      @crtp47 22 дня назад +2

      Specialist are experts in one field, which blinds them from other domains. In a country every department affects other, every choice has a butterfly effect.
      Generalist are aware of this.
      So at best specialist can be used as consultants by the generalist.

    The starting line has been made equal for everyone once recruitment of IAS officers occurs through UPSC CSE examination with reservations.
    Even after this if reservation is still required for secretary level posts, merit not only takes hit but it just gets burried.
    Merit and social justice has to go hand in hand. Rahul Gandhi is purely playing politics of appeasement here and even the government has succumbed to appeasement politics.

      How do you ensure that people from reserved category are not discriminated during promotion? Because it still happens, there is demand for that in promotion.

      @@ravisingh7932 Only one catch here: there was no transparency in how “merit” was being decided for these posts!

    I'm backing laterals. We, aspirant are mostly depend on expert for opinion through out the process then why not lateral entry should be there.. We need expert to revolutionise the governance... Adhar and telecom are the best best example of laterals entry... What gov5 can do itdo it 5 person at a time so that these reservation seeking politician ignore it... One brick at a time approach should be adopted

      No I dont think so...
      When bureaucrats work in a department for years they eventually gain expertise and experience..
      This is a way to get loyal and dedicated bureaucracy and crippling the system gradually..
      Ecen when u need expert opinion it doesnt mean u need experts in one field in bureaucracy...
      If u need opinion of your dentist it doesnt mean u need to open a dentist clinic
