I honestly believe that Clay did not know how negatively he would be perceived by the public. I believe he thought he would be a fan favorite and someone who would get bountiful opportunities from Love is Blind. He was taken aback by the negative response he got, and he seemed to be a bit envious of the response AD got. I believe that is why he began speaking about her in the manner that he did in the press. Clay seemed to a man who was not interested in black women specifically darker skinned black women. Seeing him with Celina confirms everything I thought about him.
First of all whenever Clay would say he was in therapy it sounded like a BetterHelp commercial. He specifically had to mention how he needed to find one that fit him which is one of their selling points. I always knew it was fake news!
