Great tutorial!
I have used the HerpStat products for a while and I can say they have to be the best thermostats on the market!
As for the cooling settings: it is designed to run cooling fans within the enclosure. Say you live in Texas and you're keeping heat sensitive lizards such as Abronia sp. Then the HerpStat will have a "set temperature" where once it reads (say 78) it'll turn a fan on too cool off the enclosure until it reaches a set point.
Hopefully that clarifies the cooling setting!
That's an amazing explination! Thank you so much :D For some reason my brain didn't connect cooling with the addition of fans, but it makes way more sense now! I'm going to pin your comment for anyone who is curious about the cooling setting
That's really interesting! Awesome, thanks for the info.
I can finally dig out and set up my herpstat I bought years ago 😬 thank you so much for a comprehensive tutorial!!
...I feel this 😂
Ah yes! I finally purchased one a few months ago...pulled it out & was so overwhelmed when I couldn’t find good, clear, visual tutorials. I can now save your video and set it up confidently
@@kiya528 I completely understand how that felt! My herpstat sat un-used for MONTHS because I was so intimidated by the initial set up. I'm so glad it's up and running now, it takes so much anxiety out of reptile keeping! Good luck to you, I'm glad my video can be of some help :)
Interesting! I'll probably never have a need for a thermostat like that but I can definitely see how it'd not only make herp care easier, but also safer for the animals. It takes human error and human forgetfulness out of the equation. No more constantly watching a thermometer and adjusting the heating element accordingly. Looks pretty easy to set up too! Hope people find this useful!
Yes, exactly! It's an awesome way to control a BUNCH of tank temperatures without having to buy a separate thermostat or dimmer for each one.
Thank you so freaking much. This is exactly what I was looking for. Both product & this video how to. Take care!
Make a video explaining how to use humidity probes and how to install them correctly
Thank you for this!
This was exactly what I needed. Excellent quality video : clear, to the point and concise review, we actually see everything. Hey I would love a humidity control tutorial also. Thank you ! I wonder what the alarms sound like too.
Hello great video information Tatiana
Thank you!
Hey very good for explaining this item. I was wondering if you could make a vidoe on the humidity setting I cant seem to get it to work
Great video would love to see how to set up the humidity and would I have to get an additional misting unit to connect
I would love to see you do it tutorial on humidity and what you’re using to increase humidity hopefully you can answer I see that you have been on
Adding automation to a process is so cool! I wonder how it does humidity with that one probe it came with🤔 maybe additional accessories you can buy?
It's a seperate probe you have to buy, I think it's like 50 bucks
Do you have anymore videos about the Herpstat 4? I’m having trouble trying to figure it out and find the manual daunting. 🙏🏻☺️
Let me know what you're stuck on and I can always try to help! I can also make a more detailed tutorial if you need it :)
@@TatianasTinyZoo yes please!! There’s not really a ton of herb step for tutorials online so if you could give another more detailed one that would be fantastic! Your videos are so helpful!! I’m using mine With a UVB bulb, ceramic heat emitter and a basking light
So the herpstat 4 can regulate ceramic heaters and uvb bulbs / basking lamps ?
If u have it on dimming tho it’s not gonna fully turn off the basking light at night is it like u need?
So this would be better to get instead of 3 herpstat 1 ?
U can control each unit properly im gonna have 3 pvc snake enclosures stacked with heat panels would this be good idea?
So by changing the night time temp to like 5 degrees lower then my home that will send zero power to the bulb correct? And then setting the time for night mode to end will then allow day time to take over. Essentially it's like have a timer shutting off the power for the 12 night mode right?
Yes, exactly!
@@TatianasTinyZoo ty kindly
Can you use this with a DHP for a ball python?
Yes absolutely!
I use a heating pad for my ball python so where would I put the probe?
Put in on the heat pad! If you have a hide or something he uses that's on the heatpad, put it there
Where would I put the probe in my Animal Plastics T8 cage, it's heated by a RHP. I have the herpstat 2, any feedback is appreciated 🙏
My power percentage not going up
My herpstat bounces from 78.0 - 80.0 when i have it set to 95. And the power is at 100%. I also have the probe really close to the lamp so im so confused on how it cant heat it up to 95.
What light/heat source are you using?
@@TatianasTinyZoo I have currently an Arcadia 80w deep heat projector
@@alop9535 I would check the placement of your probe first, see if moving it around a bit will get the correct temperature readings. If that doesn't work I'd try a different heat source and see if it's the DHP or the herpstat.
