Biological Oceanography Beach Clean Fall 2024 OIMB

In the fall term of 2024, the Biological Oceanography students participated in a beach cleaning competition to see which team could collect the most trash from the local marine habitats around the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology in Charleston, Oregon. By the end of the 11-week term, the students had collected 227 pounds of trash pollution! We then donated the debris to a local organization that makes artwork out of marine debris to raise awareness about pollution in the ocean. Videography by Rowan McLachlan.
