I'm so proud of you Ieva, I know you don't have idea of who I am but I've seen you grown thru the years, It's like seeing a friend achieving her goals!!!! ❤ , your place looks, cozy, elegant and really beautiful , I almost cry when your family went to your appartment for dinner, your home is also special because they help you built it. I live by myself as well and I can understand the feeling of being alone, I'm not gonna lie, It's something it goes away and then comes back somedays, but you have your lovely family with you, I'm pretty sure they are more than happy to see you. Sadly I can't visit my parents because they passed away, which sometimes makes it harder. But anyways I can't wait for your vlogs and adventures, they are always so relaxing to me for some reason, and they leave me with a smile on my face! ❤ Thank you again for sharing so many special moments with us! ❤

You can be really really lucky your family members are all alive and you can visit them any time if they only live 15 minutes away from you... remember this... some of us drive for hours to see them and sadly some even lost them. So, try and be positive 🙏

I always dreamed to live abroad. And after I lot of years I did that. I worked a lot, grew myself to get it. In one time I am so happy and proud about that. But at the same time I am feeling so lonely without my parents. Right now I am not dreaming about vacation on Bali or Malaysia. I just want to be with my family at the place we lived together for 25 years.

I actually started watching your channel after I moved out for the first time too! Your vlogs back then were so nice because you lived at home with your loving family and it reminded me about how it felt to still live at home with my own family 💜 your vlogs got me over that first phase of feeling a bit lonely and alone! But I can promise you that it gets better with time 😇 Whenever I missed my family very much I would cook one of my mum's go to meals from my childhood :) it always made me feel better :)
Your homesickness talk is real and it makes me want to share my story for anyone going through the same thing. I moved all the way to France in the beginning of this semester and the first few months are extremely hard. I prepped for the big move for nearly a year, getting all the paperwork done, finding a place to live in, figuring out my budget and such, but I never even thought about what it would be like to live on my own. Everything happened so fast, I only realized just how lonely I would really be when my dad dropped me off at the airport, and even then it was nothing compared to what it was a month later: I hated my small studio (I live near Paris..), I didn't like my school, I compared my new friends to my "old" friends, I didn't understand some things the French people did, etc... I think I literally had at least one reason to cry everyday for a month and a half. It's actually funny when I look back at it - I was such a drama queen; small things like figuring out how to get social security made me anxious and I grew a deep hatred for french administration. Now it's been 5 months and I finally feel like myself again. Sometimes like during my birthday, or on new years I get a bit sad, but it quickly passes because "je n'ai pas que ça à faire!" like the French would say. I feel at home in my little studio, even bought a house plant to keep me company, and I took a babysitting job which I love. I travelled abroad with a friend for a week during the winter break and to my surprise, I found myself missing France at the end of the week. Baby steps...

Wanting to create my home. There comes a time for everyone when it just feels right. I've reached that age and took a step towards this direction :)
Your vlogs are so fun and I love all the cooking! Moving is such an adjustment but I know you will begin to feel home in your space soon. When you get pics on the walls. Louis will be fine, he’s adjusting too. Love your apartment!!!

Hey lovely, I also experienced that same sad feeling when I moved from Newcastle to London, away from my parents. It feels like the end of an era but you’ll begin to love the freedom, and just remember you can visit your parents any time when you miss them ❤️ it will definitely get easier as time passes x

I'm sure it also depends on the personality. I'm such an introvert, I LOVED moving thousands of kilometers away and have my space, decide when I want to have social interactions, etc. However, 9 years later I have a little boy and watching him and my mom say goodbye to each other over and over again breaks my heart into a million pieces!

So happy to see your journey being on your own. Seen a negative comment that called it childish that u moved out this late. That's ignorance. Who gives a sh*t. There is no written rule that says u have to be on your own at 16-18. It's your life and u live it at your own pace and you are not them. Plus they're not paying your bills! Congrats on the new home. When I moved out last year I felt the same! With time You don't feel so lonely, and if You do: go back for a pyjama party in your family home. This always saves me :)

Lovely vlog xx It can be hard at first to move out and scary but in time you will love it and when your working etc don't get time to feel alone. Should be proud of yourself getting your own home. I was young 20 years I bought my first home.

I've had the same feeling when I left my family home. I was crying every day and even if it's already 7 months when I move in to my own house I have sometimes days when I feel alone and empty and I want to back to my family...

I'm really proud of you for choosing to move into your own home even though you are so close to your family. We grow the most when we challenge our boundaries in life. There will be a period of transition and it may be difficult, but you'll find your own rhythm.
Oh Ieva, it's really heartbreaking to see your pet scared and uncomfortable, we moved house my cat slept and lived in his litter box for about 2 days. I was so worried, but then - he came out of his litter box, had some food, sniffed around and started living his cat life. I hope you're well, I do love your home vlogs!
Yeah, it's gonna take a little while for Louis as he's a very skittish cat. He now comes out in the evenings and hides during the day. xx

Renovations can take forever. I think your place came together pretty quickly since you basically started from scratch. It's tough at first, for sure. Yes, it is lonely. It should get easier once you get out in your new neighborhood. Talk radio can be helpful. My brother lives in Washington D.C so one visit I took my 2 toy fox terriers. They didn't move for 10 days. They stayed on the door mat the whole time, and when I tried to pick them up they scurried back over to the mat. Even trying to walk them was a huge issue. They just shivered and froze from fright. lol I felt so bad I brought them. I don't know if you can put a bird feeder by your window for Louie to watch the birds. Maybe that would help. The Girls night you had is a great start! Love the waffle maker.

Don't want to rant, but stating that if someone says that they don't find it hard to move then they are either fooling people or are not close to their families or family is not important to them is very insensitive. I'm glad for you enjoying your new place and having had an amazing family home, but please be more considerate of other people's experiences and situations.

There's a cat pheromone spray that helps calm them. A pet supplies store would have it. That might help Louis adjust easier.
Aw, cute vlog... it’s definitely hard living away from family, my parents moved to another state last year and it’s been hard for after they’ve been near me for 40 years 😩💕
I think you made a good decision to move in your hometown, close to your family, because time apart from them is time you can never get back and, one day, they will unfortunately pass away. This way you won't have regrets about all the things you wanted to do together and you couldn't, because you actually can. I have a different story from yours, grew up alone in my own apartment after my mom died when I was 12. My dad supported me, but he always lived in another apartment (close to mine though) with his mistress, even when my mom lived. I have moved abroad 3 years ago, and even if I am well here and I wasn't very close to him, I still miss him and I go back every once in a while, but of course, not as often as you can since we are thousands of km apart. I have a cat as well, very much like Louis (personality-wise), and have developed an obsession with neutral jumpers since watching you :))

It’s only when we lose someone that we realize how important they are to us, isn’t it. I’m surely glad to live close to my parents, cousins, all my grandparents and aunts. Such a blessing to be able to see them without having to cross hundreds of kilometers.

Does Loui feel better now? I hope so. My cats were also terrified when we moved from a flat to a house but I think it was a little bit better situation because after the first shock they had a bigger place+garden where they had adventures.
He does, especially in the evenings. He's still in his hiding spot during the day tho but getting there.

May be louie needs another cat in the apartment to feel relaxed.my father was in judicial services n his job made us move every third year to a new city and our 3 dogs also suffered just like louie but they had each other so it was always somehow ok for them to adjust in new homes.
It can have a reverse effect getting another pet. Also, I wouldn't want a second cat right now. Louis has an incredible temperament and manners that I've never seen in any other cat. I owned at least 4 as well :)
