Octodad: Dadliest Catch is about destruction, deception, and fatherhood. The player controls Octodad, a dapper octopus masquerading as a human, as he goes about daily life.
Octodad's existence is a constant struggle, as he must master mundane tasks with his unwieldy boneless tentacles while simultaneously keeping his cephalopodan nature a secret from his human family. Opposing the octopus are scores of staircases, boxes of banana peels, and one intense sushi chef.
Octodad has gotten himself in a bind between his wife's mounting mistrust, and a disastrous trip to the local aquarium! Manipulate his body like a squishy marionette to maintain the masquerade, as too much suspicion from the proper populace will doom him to sleep with the fishes!

Oh man I almost welled up, the story looks set to be an emotional one! We can't wait for this!
The fact that this trailer started with me giggling like a schoolgirl out of laughter and excitement to feeling rather sad and depressed over in under a minute means only one thing... I'm going to preorder the shit out of this.
It's still not pre-orderable on Steam yet, I dont see how pre-orders benefit either the consumer or the developer, you buy the game with a discount(pre-orders always come with 10% or more off), giving the developers less money, and if it ends up being a terrible game, like Aliens Colonial Marines, you had no reviews so far, and Steam wont give you your money back.
Hitman41165 Pre-Orders barely give any discount. They just give something extra. Like Assassin's Creed, Total War Rome II, and pretty much any other game... Also, pre-ordering a game is a faster income for the developers which mean that they will be able to fix the game faster if they see a good demand.
S.W.H.T.L.C. They usually do bring a 10% discount, at least on Steam. And I did talk to one of the devs, and he agrees that pre-orders don't benefit the customer that much, you get 10% off, but you could get a broken game.
This makes me hungry, need to eat more fish.

Seriously... this was legitimately one of the most fun games I ever played. I keep coming back to it and replaying it simply because it's just so much fun to play!
And those are the operative words: FUN and PLAY. I'm having FUN while truly PLAYING a game. I'm not "playing" a game where I'm mining endless materials mistaking play for a second job.
I would dearly love a sequel. You guys have made Octodad a totally endearing, intuitive character and I just want to spend more time with him. There's so many games out there that get unwarranted sequels. Games that are one-and-done experiences.
But as I said, I keep coming back again and again to play Octodad simply because it's so much fun. It's a game that deserves a sequel, and it's a sequel I'd line up to buy.

While I DO agree how Octodad: Dadliest Catch brings up nearly limitless entertainment I don't think it would be possible to make a sequel, mainly because of the story. DON'T EXPAND THIS COMMENT IF YOU HAVEN'T COMPLETED THE STORY MODE OF OCTODAD AS IT CONTAINS SPOILERS
Okay, so... ...there isn't much story-wise to continue with; Octodad forgives the Chef who leaves after decided to "not bother [Octodad] again", the Family knows Octodad's true identity as an Octopus and thats about it.
If they made a sequel, they'd have to either make a possible prequel or just make another game but minus a story.
And besides, the developers continually expand the game, as it now includes two DLC levels, a fully integrated Steam Workshop and even an upcoming "Multi-Dad" mode. So you can enjoy the new (and up-coming) content before waiting for a sequel.
Lets make a new story!
Octodad's kids and wife (but not octodad) go somewhere else (an aquarium far far away in another province/state) for a long time (or like how in the beginning when scarlet is at the sink and says "In a few weeks I'll be out of town on an assignement!") and Octodad has to do daily things (shopping, going to amusement parks, and stuff) and then an evil... fisherman is trying to capture him because if the fisherman sold octodad he would be rich! what about you guys's stories?

If it supports the controllers (Xbox or PS3 controller through 'Motion In Joy') then why wait? I'm hitting Steam. Hopefully it'll have awesome sales on Steam and the PS4 to show indie devs that both platforms are great places to be.

10 minutes later and fails to master the contols on a too much gamer "OMFG THESE CONTROLS ARE BAD" *ragequit* and then theres me. Its still hard but fun. Well looks fun havent played yet.
