In today's video, I take a look at every single Mario Kart game that has been canceled. With the rumours of Mario Kart 9 being in development, I thought it would be a a great time to take a glance back at the History of Mario Kart, and look at why Virtual Boy Mario Kart, Mario Kart XXL, Tesla Mario Kart, and Yoshi Kart were all canceled in the midst of their development.

Yoshi kart would’ve been great but Nintendo really had to reject my favorite dinosaur’s first kart game. At least what happened to star fox 2 also happened that was payback!

5:00 I mean they probably didn't want to encourage people to play games whilst driving. That's usually considered dumb and dangerous.
I mean I don't understand how it even works. If you are using the gas to play the game what the heck controls the car (or would this be on a self driving car). Either way self driving cars are not safe enough to be independent of human control.
Say, that is quite interesting to note about the canceled or unreleased Mario Kart games. Of particular note and the most infamous cancelation that I primarily point out is the Virtual Boy Mario Kart, that is because of the issues involving the infamous failed Nintendo console, such as eye strain or motion sickness and just a few other issues concerning the Virtual Boy console. That is perhaps the only notable cancelled Mario Kart game that I am primarily looking at. Other than that, I didn't even know about the other minor canceled Mario Kart games, but it is just the Virtual Boy Mario Kart that I can primarily point out as an infamous Mario Kart game cancelation. 👍

Mario Kart 9 already exists. It’s called Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit(yes, Nintendo declared Home Circuit as MK9).

@@vanderquakSP No Mario kart 9 is literally in the MK8DX DLC (it has like 1 nitro track btw at the end on 2023 many nitro tracks lol)

there is a cancelled game you are missing. it was a fully remastered hd version of mario kart wii made for the nvidia shield in china. the game was fully done but nintendo never released it, i want to combust and die

I mean, it was a pretty good game. And a vast amount of people also agree with this opinion. It's generally considered one of, if not the best games in the series.

@@sillyman2 But idk, for me something is just so unsatisfying about how the game has so many ramps but you can't trick off of them. But I do respect your opinion if you genuinely think it's the best Mario Kart game.

Mario kart DS is the worst entry in the franchise! Mario Kart 8 deluxe is easily the real best entry in the franchise.
