    I admire your work ethic and committment to both tour family's health and budget. Also, as you said, it's a bit of 'you' time despite the hour. Knowing that the veg was prepped and put away would make for restful sleep. You get some amazing prices in QLD for fresh veg. You'd be crazy not to maximise these bargains when you find them. Your doing such a great job Emily AND you film and edit it all for us! Thank you.

    Having veg ready to use in meal sized portions makes cooking a breeze. So much cheaper to do it at home yourself, regardless of the time, than to buy it in already chopped. Sometimes it is definitely a blessing to be able to race into a shop and buy a bag of grated carrot ot something but there's no need to make that an everyday thing. Good on you Emily.

      Agree. I was in the supermarket recently and a young girl about 11 years old saw sliced potatoes (like for a potato bake) and said to her mum that's so lazy buying it precut... I just smiled. The mum didn't want to assume anything so said sometimes people don't have time to cut it up.

    I love watching your content. How do you find these awesome bargains, I never seem to find any 😢. Do you stumble upon them by chance or do you research? Would love to see more of your meal challenges, I love watching them but don’t find many from Australia.

    Your videos give me a good indication of which fresh produce will come down in price in Victoria, a few days after yours- eg. last week you bought bananas for 99 cents a kilo, and a few days later the prices in Victoria dropped from $4 a kilo to $2 a kilo- so now I am waiting for zucchini to drop in price here too! Now I just need to know what to do with all my bananas.. So sorry you were in a car accident- Big Hugs to you and yours ❤❤❤

    • @AussieDebtFreeGirl
      @AussieDebtFreeGirl  2 года назад +1

      Zuchini was before the banana's. Go off the grocery hauls, they are usually about a week behind when ive done them. Freeze your banana's for smoothies in summer haha

      Mashed potatoes do NOT freeze well. They go mushy or watery.

    It's been a while since you have done a cuppa and a chat, Unless of course I have miss it (which is a real possibility. lol)
    I understand you have had a lot going on. between the regular juggle of family, add the complications of illness, and just to test you the universe add the incontinence and stress of car accident, but all humor aside. How are you feeling since your car accident? the physical and financial impacts can be horrible, but the psychological aftermath can take a real toll on a person.

    • @AussieDebtFreeGirl
      @AussieDebtFreeGirl  2 года назад +3

      I had a bad concussion and a spliting headache for over a week and i was very sore for a long while. I actually dont remember the accident anymore other then the sound of the cars hitting and my head hitting the glass. Thank you so much for thinking of me though. Financially its obviously hasnt been great infact we are still waiting on a huge bill to come in. We will deal with it once it comes as we always do.
      Next court date is 2 days before Christmas so there is that too.

      @@AussieDebtFreeGirl When it rains, it pours. hopefully the bill isn’t as large as anticipated, horrible time to go back to court. Lucky you are creative and have mastered frugality to help tackle these challenges.
