Every year in the 70's and early 80's they ran a Hillclimb on that road. I ran it several times in my 914/6 reaching speeds in excess of 110. It was a great event. I think they still run the event but limit the entries to cars from that same vintage. To days cars are too fast for that road. However, I do remember one guy from New York that showed up in his new 427 Cobra. He did one run then packed up and went home. Apparently to change his pants.
Absolutely beautiful!!! Now I love living in south Florida, but at this time of year I do miss fall time!! This was a treat to enjoy for those of us who will be missing it this year! Thank you! This had a feeling of home effect on me. Well done wonderful video! I also do recommend fall time in the Smokey mountains, that is something to see!
I'm so happy to hear it gave you a taste of home! I cannot wait to find a chance to get the the smokey mountains hopefully next year. Until then I'm very excited for a return to South Florida in just a few months! Any requests while I'm there?
@@donnahollywood8007 You're speaking my language. When I go back it's to explore the keys down to Marathon then up to Tampa for Siesta Key. Definitely check out my Florida Playlist - I have 3 or 4 from Hollywood and would love to know what you think!
I agree that this is a beautiful drive, one that I missed when driving by, and that a pause at the top and look around would have added more flavor to this video. That said, scenes such as 15:56 are glorious in their own. Thank you for sharing!
Yes! I’m back. And loving this drive. Indeed, that scene that I indicated is just the beginning of a mesmerizing minute or so. The angle is perfect. Thank you again for sharing!
I've driven by the entrance to Skyline Drive, but never gone up it. I kind of wish you'd gotten out at the top and shown some of the view, but it looks like it was a beautiful drive.
Same! I've seen the entrance so many times and even forgot about it on this trip. I'm pretty sure I almost caused a back up when I slammed on my brakes when I passed it! I'll have a few short videos of the top on Facebook soon under Milemarker4k. I've been a little slow to it only because I offered to video a friends wedding but they are on the way!

@@MileMarker4k I would love to see more of the keys outside of key West. The Hollywood beach broadwalk is something to see. I like all of Florida.
