As we continue to deal with the impact of urban sprawl and development, urban conservation projects are becoming more important. The team at Conservation Halton has established a small conservation area called Loyalist Woods in Oakville, Ontario with important benefits for threatened species, carbon sequestration, biodiversity, water purification, and more.

Very cool! I would love to see city planners and builders get involved as they put in these big industrial/retail parks.
Integrate the rain runoff from the parking lot next door into the wetland. Every big retail park should be built with a wetland to handle their runoff, and divert away from city sewers.
I love the idea of taking a proactive rather than a reactive approach to urbanization and development. Thinking about ways to integrate features like wetlands into development is a great idea. It ties into a larger discussion on ‘natural climate solutions’ to mitigate climate change. Thanks so much for your comment and for checking out the video!
@@DavidBysouth 🙏 keep up the good work!
Kepp going buddy, amazing work. Just imagine cites being filled everywhere with places for nature, it doesn’t keep much space and benefits of it are good for all nature and for us.
