If that was me, I wouldn’t take that from a girl like that. One thing I would never tolerate is someone trying to act better than anyone else. I’ve dealt with a lot of idiots like that before. I don’t need to be better than anyone, because I’m no better than anyone. I am who I am. If they don’t like it, too bad. People don’t have to like me, unless they want to be friends with me, then that’s okay. I’m willing to like anyone as long as they respect me, I respect them too. It works both ways.

This sounds like my family. i was raised by a single mother who worked 60 hours a week to keep the roof over our head. Instead of going on expensive vacations we went to museums and camping in the local mountains. Both my brother and I completed our education with a phd.
Then ? You change the world or just become Tax and corporate slave like many graduated.

I am forever grateful for the sacrifices my mother made for us, and for instilling in us the importance of education and hard work. While we may not have had all the luxuries growing up, we had each other and the support to chase our dreams. I am proud of where I come from and the values that were instilled in me.

I can relate to both sides.. I used to act like the rich girl I would bully someone and say they'll never get into this or that at the end the person I bullied and judged he ended up meeting and reaching his goals and it ended up coming back to me where I put myself in his shoes and realized how hateful I was I felt really ashamed so I started all over and fix myself.. I'm not perfect I fail... But I'm happy that he got into Harvard ☺️

It's because rich people are used to getting what they want that they haven't got the faintest idea of what some people must do just to survive and the hard work involved to become rich and successful. My mother has a real estate portfolio worth almost 2 million dollars. She instilled in me to make my own living and not live off her money.
Moral: Never be ashamed about where you came from. Even the most successful people in history 1st started out w/ nothing.

Even though talent is a natural aptitude to do something well, it's value and potential cannot take form without hard work and dedication. What impressed me here was that Billy not only was a brilliant student but also worked countless hours at the soup kitchen with his voluntary role.
Angelica meanwhile had everything provided for her and believed that would get her into Harvard. She never learned the value of hard work.

Dont ever judge someone else that has less than you , I taught this to my kids at a young age . Treat them the same way you want to be treated , and that is RESPECT ! The end was good , just didnt expect that !

I am almost 60 and I have dealt with people who considered themselves to be above me on the social and evolutionary scale the whole time. What is really ironic is so many of them are now lying in graves and I have survived things they never had to face. So I ended up getting the last laugh.

I agree, it was so satisfying to see the underdog come out on top. It just goes to show that hard work and determination can pay off in the end. And the recruiter definitely made the right choice by choosing the guy with a strong work ethic over someone who was just handed everything on a silver platter. Justice was served in the best way possible.
I think the alien abduction scene symbolizes how her bullying got her in trouble like this. It may be fictional but it represents it destroyed her.

Unfortunately a lot of rich kids get in because they are rich not smart, though a lot of smart people make it too. In the end of the day as bad as it sounds education is a business and paying lots of ,,donations" helps rich kids get in no problem.

It's important to promote a fair and equal opportunity for all students, rather than giving preferential treatment to those who come from wealthy backgrounds. It’s fiction but if people like the nasty piece of work that actress is playing (she is great by the way as you hste the character: she is probably lovely irl) really exist at Harvard i’d want to avoid it like the plague. Sadly such entitlement and privilege is rife here in the UK too with the whole Eton/Oxford clique around Boris Johnson and their recent shameful behsviour. . I’m working class and am a lawyer just finishing off a PhD on full scholarship. It’s not at Oxford or Cambridge but it does not matter as I got it on my own merits even though it was hard.😊
That ending with his mom is so heartwarming. As a soon-to-be scholar (not bragging about it though) I am also proud to say that I am not rich and I am just poor, but I will definitely change what other people thinks of me.

Regardless that it is only an acting scene, but I saw such a thing in reality when I was young in the eighties, I was only eight years old. We had a poor student and the students from the rich class used to bully him in a similar way daily... He was beaten by them and by the teachers... They were tearing up his daily homework in order to be punished by the teachers... Why? Because he was smarter than them... With time, I discovered that he was an orphan and that all his brothers, mother and father died in a car accident and he lived with his sick and elderly uncle, so I noticed that he could not get what he wanted because he did not have money and no one helped him.
My father was working in the military and I told him what was happening, and for the first time I saw my father angry, so he went to the neighbors, and the next day they all met at the school and their voices were so loud that the police were present at the school. Since that day, no one can approach him or harm him, and all the teachers have come to respect him, and even the student does not know what happened... And now he is considered a prestigious employee and engineer in the municipality. As for the rich students. Some of them did not finish their studies, some are in prison, and three of them died in car accidents sporadically..

You should never judge someone until you walk in there shoes. Billy is such a good guy and shouldn't be treated that way. And his mom is also a good person For being there for her son. And helping that little boy out that was in danger.

i also got a scholarship in college and i could not understand why others have been accepted since they are already rich and can afford to study even without scholarship. i was not able to keep the grade requirements so I lost it and i was not able to finish my degree. but I am still thankful that I have given a chance to have it and i learned a lot from my experience. thanks for the video.

This short is unrealistic in my opinion. 9 out of 10 people that you meet don't feel that way about the poor, and those that act like Angelica bully like that because tearing others down gives them a rise. If he wasn't poor, then she would find another excuse to use against him if it were a realistic short. I'm not saying that it's okay to bully others because it's not.
